My Tacoma TRD came with black leather interior, so I’m having Katzkin make Leather in Red with black trim and stitching. My friend also has a 23 Tacoma TRD so I’m selling the black leather that’s coming out of my Tacoma, as he has gray cloth interior.

After I hike, though clean, I stink and my sweaty butt isn't what I want on cloth. Leather, I just spray leather cleaner and all New, no sweat smell. You make great videos though!

I have a 2021 Tacoma with leather heated seats and after about an hour in a half of driving in the truck my lower back starts to hurt. The seats are so low to the floor that ever bump and turn I feel it. It doesn't help that I am 6'0 either. Is there anything that I can do to help my lower back from hurting on long trips?

There are many videos and reviews of "Tacoma Seat jackers", they can raise, and/or shift the seat position angle. No personal experience but it's an option.

Having owned both a cloth and leather Tacomas as well. I MUCH prefer the leather for durability, comfortability, appearance and ease of cleaning. On my cloth seats I absolutely had seat lip crinkle and wear over time. Repetitive friction can destroy all sorts of materials.

Leather all the way the previous owner failed to eat the food instead they dumped it on the seats yuck! I love the Tacoma 19 first Toyota ever. And yes I have black leather with Orange stitching to match the factory interior. Katzkins did a great 👍 job.

@@RobMotive You ripped the leather because you didn't have sense enough to not wear pants with sharp edge metal exposed that caught on the seat. The same would have happened on any upholstery. Probably worse on fabric. Ridiculous.

Yes here in Orlando Fla and I had Katzkins do my leather seats black with matching Orange stitching from the door and dash. Had it done about 1 month ago I love it the previous owner wasted everything on the cloth seats. Interior was Grey and look like yuck. I don't regret it all smells like a new Tacoma 😁😁😁😁😁

I have cloth in mine but put fake leather seat covers in. I have pets so hairs get stuck in the cloth. I chose black and grey to match my cement Tacoma. I have no regrets.

I have leather in my 2018 Off Road. Absolutely no issues and would never go with cloth. Very durable and looks great after 3 years. And mine goes off road. It is not anything but great.

I kind of really try to keep a new truck clean as possible I don't mind doing the outside clean because it's easy to move around I can't stand doing the interior I don't consider myself a big guy most of my life I was six three and a hundred and fifty pounds very winery but now as I am coming up on sixty I lost a couple inches because of the disks in my back but I'm pushing two hundred twenty five and moving around in there installing a mod cleaning I find myself in serious pain so I try to keep it tiddy as I can and once a year I give it a real detailed cleaning but in a week or so it's getting fifty again.

I didn’t have much of a choice as my Tacoma was used when I bought it. it has the Katzkin seat covers that was installed by the previous owner and to be honest, I always liked cloth but that katzkin leather is really nice and wouldn’t trade it for cloth. I’m sold on those

It's not like anybody is sitting at the dealer checking a list of options from a long set of choices. We are taking what's available for the most part and it either has leather in a package or it doesn't. Kind of a crap shoot right now and Toyota and dealer hold the cards.

I have cloth on my new Tacoma and they are nice and comfortable seats. But I have leather on my two Hondas and I've never experienced any of the issues you talked about. They are ten and eight years old now and still look just fine, and I've never done anything to them. Even in severe cold they aren't really that bad, although we do use the butt warmers in the winter. Now the old vinyl seats were a real nightmare in cold weather and would get as hard as a rock. My grandparents would get those gawdawful clear plastic seat covers on their Chevy sedans and they really sucked big time. But at least they didn't put it on their living room furniture like some crazy people did back in the day.

I’d have to say Rob, I’m a Florida aka Floriduh lol resident. I 100% prefer the Black Leather over cloth interior. It’s very easy to keep clean and maintain and also fortunately came equipped with Heated and Cooled seats. I’ve had no issues (knock on wood) with wear at all. Now any vehicles I buy I always try to make sure I get the leather option. 👍🏼✌🏼

I have a 2021 Tacoma and I love the cloth seats. So many advantages over leather. I live in a very cold climate and I appreciate the warmth of the cloth. I don’t slide around on the cloth when navigating rough terrain. Things that I put on the the cloth seats stay put. They don’t slide off the cloth, even if you have to slow down quickly or make a tight turn at speed. The cloth that Toyota uses is resistant to spills and stains. Sun will fade and crack leather seats. You have to continually rub leather UV protectant on the seats and seat backs to minimize this problem.

My 2019 came with leather, and I love the leather seats. I find the opposite - warm in winter (west coast so not that cold) and cool in summer. As for cleaning... saddle soap. Time-proven for western gear (including saddles) and easy to apply and use. Plus a small can (looks like old time shoe polish can) lasts for ages.

Aloha and good 👍 evening 🌚 Rob. I concur with you that leather is very expensive to care for. Plus, the very 🔥 hot weather ☀️ does wear out the leather in the form of dry rips, and evident wear outs. The cloth seats only drawback is keeping the chairs clean and stainless. The best way to protecting the the cloth seats is waterproof seat covers that repels stains and water and spills altogether. I hated the cloth seats and got Custom PRP vinyl with choice of stitching colors, center, side panels, back colors are all color selections and holding up well with abuse.

Rob I disagree with you on that decision; I got it done OEM aftermarket. It is a no-brainer here in the Northeast, combined with heated seats. For those with or without Leather consider covering seats as needed with Aries Seat defender...Good quality.

So far my leather seats have been amazing. I’ve only had the truck for 8 months but have put over 45k on the truck. I got them because I understand that the leather is supposed to be more durable than the cloth. The cloth seats in my 2010 xterra ended up separating at the seams and it seemed that it couldn’t be repaired. This is why I opted for leather seats but more time has to be spent in the truck.

My Barcelona Red SR5 was perfect but for the cloth seats. I had Katskin black leather with red stitching installed and it is now beyond perfect. The leather is much better and much cheaper than the Toyota leather. Personal choice I agree but for me Katskin leather is the way to go in the color you like.

Well first of all, that is not real leather but a synthetic fabric called Leatherette or faux leather. In other words those are vinyl seats which are great for off-roading because they repel water and mud way better than regular fabric and they are easy to clean. I know, pros and cons. It's funny how the auto manufactures nowadays sell these as a "premium" feature when back in the day vinyl seat covers was for the entry model options. Marketing wonders I guess. I have these "leather" seats in my 2021 Tacoma TRD Off-Road Premium because I wanted the sunroof and unfortunately the only way to get it was with the "Premium" package that comes with "leather" and heated seats and some other perks. I like them because of the above plus I'm a pet owner so pet hair doesn't get into the seats easily (it does into the floor carpet lol). If you want real leather I would recommend get the fabric ones and buy the leather covers or re-upholstery from a reputable business later on.

I don't care for my leather seats. I would have preferred having cloth seats and a grey interior. It definitely gets hot in the summer. Only thing that is a plus, is it's easy to clean and they are heated for the winter or your back hurts. When you want the tech/sun roof, unfortunately you have to get leather. 😒
