Looks good, just one comment, what you are missing is a “stitching horse or pony” not a saddle stitch.

Great tutorial Mallory! Just an FYI. If you have 2 C clamps you can make a stitching pony. Clamp one to your bench with the other, then use the open clamp as your pony! Just a suggestion for you to get you through until you get yours found or replaced. For obvious reasons please be careful how tight you clamp your pieces or the will be marked up and or destroyed. Hope this helps as you helped me. I have a real dislike for zippers and this helped me figure them out some. Thank you!!

@Weaver Leather Supply can Ladio leath be dyed? I ask because I want to make a green collar for a 75 pound dog that has never be trained to walk rather than pulling so I need a pretty thick leather.

What do you mean “missing saddle stitch”? You can do Corter leather was of saddle stitch, it doesn’t use a stitching pony.

Did you use regular contact cement on the zipper or did you use a different adhesive?

I'm told the dream factory stitching pony is the best one if you haven't already bought a new one, but it's spendy.
