I really love this design, most people don't know this but a normal face mask is only good for an hour, eve the reusable ones have to be washed out every hour or so. This allows you to replace used filters which is actually better and allowing you to do a simple clean out and replace, you can save the filters and wash them I use a alcohol and white vinegar hand wash, before putting them into the washer machine, you can also just hand wash them and place in sun light to dry out as the sun will actually help clean them even more and leave them smelling quite nice.

This is perfect! I loved the other mask design, but this one has the functionality I was seeking. Probably going to make a few of these. Thank you Hahns for an easy to follow pattern and another great video.
Thank you for the kindness of making this available at no cost.

Thank you Hahns. My wife, a seamstress, and I, a leathercrafter, will be making some of these. We are making them mostly out of her spare fabric, but I will be making some from leather too.

Watching you create these beautiful items is so relaxing and frustrating at the same time. Your designs/aesthetic are exactly what I look for in leather items, yet I have no skill to make them myself. I'm tempted to give some of these designs a shot, but it's an investment for sure. Keep up the amazing work!

a possibility for sterilizing leather : Dampen a clean cloth with water and pour a teaspoon of dish soap on the cloth. Rub the cloth over the surface of the leather. Move in a circular motion over the entire surface and scrub out any visible dirt or grease. Rinse off the soap with a damp rag. Wipe the area dry with a clean rag. Put a small dab of vinegar onto a clean rag and scrub the leather thoroughly. Apply antiseptic mouthwash on the leather just like the vinegar was applied. Pour the mouthwash on a clean cloth and move over the surface in a circular motion to kill anything on the surface of the leather. Apply a thin coat of leather conditioner to the surface of the leather after it has been exposed to the sun. Rub on the oil in a circular motion and let it dry for two hours or until dry to the touch. Apply a second coat in the same manner, if necessary.
@shadowsofheaven4 жыл бұрын
Why do all that? If the leather is properly finished with water proofing just use a good disinfectant like DSV and be done with it. Regular cloth as a filter will not work though, you will need proper rated material for it to block viruses.

leathercare tip : if youre sanitizing your mask please dont forget to help out your leather to make it last longer, whether youre baking it or spraying it down with an alcohol or vinegar dilution these are all very harsh on leather; its dead skin and cannot repair itself. Take a beeswax or bar soap(glycerine or goatsmilk) and buff into all reachable surfaces to fill in the pores and give it a protective layer. that way when you are disinfecting it its less harsh on the leather and of course remember to repeat the buffing process to replace that protective layer and keep your leather from breaking down as fast!
