Leatherhead probably got his Cajun accent because those were the last humans he spoke to before he got mutated. I don't know, it's just a theory.
@Slayerthecrow Жыл бұрын
I found kinda hilarious that once mutated Leather Head stops being albino just becomes a green alligator man. Guess the albino part was just for the Moby Dick reference.

I suppose they made this version Cajun because there was a huge "Cajun Craze" going on in the USA in the Mid- to Late 1980s. You couldn't go anywhere without seeing "Pan-Blackened" this or "Cajun-Spiced" that or "New Orleans-Style" the other. Heck, they even got the famous Cajun chef Justin Wilson to advertise Cajun Ruffles potato chips. Whatever. I got introduced to Cajun food thanks to that wave of hype, and we got a pretty darned cool version of Leatherhead out of it, too. Win / Win, as far as I'm concerned.

I loved his debut episode. Found it as a kid for the first time on our big satellite dish by accident. Still great. My favorite incarnation of leatherhead. One of my favorite characters. Enjoyed all his appearances. Especially when he fought Rat King. And Night of the Rogues is a classic. Just wish we got Antrax again in another episode

In Leatherhead's sebut episode, I always found it amusing that he was wearing the EXACT same clothes as the guy hunting him. My head cannon has always been that he went after the guy, and ate him before stealing his outfit. Haha
@TheTurtleNexus Жыл бұрын
It's strange, because they deliberately showed him getting away with his son. He didn't necessarily had to be eaten by Leatherhead, though. I am thinking that the hunter may have had a similar fate to Captain Ahab in Moby Dick. Or maybe he just ate him :p
@Hack_Man_VII Жыл бұрын
@@TheTurtleNexus Fair, but here's the kicker. Leatherhead traveled to New York to find the turtles. It's not too much of a stretch to think the hunter and his son stopped to rest, only to have a Leatherhead catch up to them. I just think It'd be funny. "Nobody's gonna make ol Leatherhead into a hunting trophy. I gonna teach them humans a lesson, by gumbo!" 🤣

I feel like if they ever explore this universe again, or ever continue this series of the modern day they can definitely take a vantage of how much lore they have available for him nowadays.
@TheTurtleNexus Жыл бұрын
The universe has a comic-book spin-off in print right now and Leatherhead already appeared. They haven't add anything from other universes yet, apart from the way the turtles call each other.

I’ve definitely always assumed in most cases the toy came before the cartoon appearance. with the exception of the later “toon turtles” subline and Mona Lisa, the toys tended to show up before their animated debut. But when it came time to write the comic book story they went with the cartoon backstory for the bio

Weird how he was an albino alligator pre-mutation, but when he mutated, he turned green, like a regular alligator.
@ericlehman68419 ай бұрын
I'm just guessing, but because the mutagen being green and possibly there was algae there, it changed his skin. I mean, look what happened with Joker's hair. That's my theory for it.

I like the Leatherhead meets Rat king, night of the rouges and Splinters vanished episodes because before Captain America civil war came out I thought that Baron Zemo and Crossbones would have teamed up to take down the avengers just like Rat king and Leatherhead.

3:55 this is some evidence to support the theory about him being a Vietnam Veteran on him being a chemical engineer, having to drive a 🚛 is a different class license, capable handling fire arms and able to hold his own against ninjas and fight an alligator man while getting his leg bite. Leatherhead should have been in the Dirk Savage episode or maybe in a red sky episode as final chapter for him just like his Frenemy the Rat king.
@TheTurtleNexus Жыл бұрын
But at the same time, the chemical reaction he was going for didn't work. There are also other weird attributes, like his control of the rats, that could have different origins. I feel like, for the most part, the Fred Wolf cartoon is based on the pied piper... but I'll do some research on it.
