Bishop is one of my favorite TMNT characters. Even though I grew up with the 2012 series and that weird "Utrom- Bishop", I remember him from the few episodes of the 2003 series I managed to watch. A powerful man who believes that all of his acts, no matter how heinous they are, are for the greater good. Best! Type of villain! Ever! I think he is a worse threat than the Shredder or Kraang. At least they know what they do is evil (in most versions). "I am a bigger picture kind of guy. Besides, I've proven that it would be beneficial if 53% of the world's population simply vanished". Although I don't remember it well, that scene where Bishop was interacting with Splinter and explaining to him his plan to release super warriors onto the world to destroy possible alien invaders stuck with me. This guy was okay with killing dozens of people, just so can be sure that there are no aliens living among them. Let's be honest. When "villain who thinks they're on the side of good" comes to mind, you think of names like Judge Claude Frollo, Bradford Buzzard, Emperor Belos and of course Agent John Bishop.

Yeah 11:43 like we never saw the man who turned into a monster and the Rat king (as I don’t see a video on the 2003 version yet) as they both should have returned in Fast Forward but I think he kinda earned his redemption in the flashback. But it never did explain why Bishop needed a new body if he has been alive for centuries as to why the Aliens did this to him to give him immortality and especially that thing crawling around his body was also never addressed and that are his clones immortal like him especially the Rat king. But don’t you think that Bishop should have appeared in the 2014 and Mutant Mayhem as realistic that the Government would consorted about Mutant turtles and aliens exist in both of those movies? But I guess you would talk about the IDW Agent Bishop and the 2012 version?

My understanding is that Bishop will appear in the new Tales show. We'll see if there is an EPF there. He kind of appeared in the Rise movie, though. I'll be covering the IDW Bishop for sure... I'm not sure there is enough there for a 2012 video, but I can try.

Agent Bishop was probably my favorite character in the 2003 series. He just seemed so mysterious. And he was deadly in hand to hand combat. He was able to hold his own against the Turtles, Splinter, Leatherhead, April, and Casey! Same with the Turtles, Karai, and Hun in a later episode. He even managed to outsmart and capture Karai who was shown to be pretty cunning herself. He was a refreshing change of pace from the Shredder.

I wonder how he’d deal with the transformers in a Tmnt/transformers crossover since they’re aliens? I also wonder if decapitation can take him out for good since impalement failed?

The IDW coloring annoys me, the clones being a solid color and Zog’s reveal picture has him wearing purple gloves. Zog has purple gloves on the cover of 7 but the return to NYC cover he doesn’t, it is such an amazing cover, they should have matched it

Some of the decisions made for the recolorings are weird. I need to use the recolors as much as possible to break the monotony of black and white on video, but in some cases I use the original (not even the black and white reprint, because it is missing tones).

@@TheTurtleNexus I spoke to Steve Lavigne at a recent comic convention. He told me that for the FIRST TMNT collections (he colored book 2,3 & 4) he worked of photo copies Eastman had mad of pages be for toning was done. He said IDW colored copies of the finished pages, which included toning.

You are right, color City at War look don’t look to have as much gray tones under the coloring. Wish I could talk to the colorist on the IDW books. Also the IDW City at War individual issues are bright and make Lawsons art look sharp, while the Works collections are very dark and the art look muddy.

Very hard to choose a favorite version of Splinter, original run Splinter is a great character, IDW Splinter is incredible, 2012 Splinter is imposing and this one is so lovable. Michael Bay proved you can miss with this character but he's a highlight in most Turtle media.

This show is incredible the art direction is great and while the sitcom part is not always good, there's still a lot of jokes that land. And when the show commit to its story the story is actually quite good. Could've been one for the ages.

This is the most popular saga in the TMNT franchise. The Shredder returns after he supposedly died and defeats the turtles, forcing them to leave from New York and seek refuge in a farmhouse where they stay to heal. This was used in the 2003 and the 2012 series.
@TheTurtleNexus

To a certain extent it was also used in the 1990 movie and the Rise cartoon (although it had to be very short there because they were already ending the series).

I was very surprised when the 2003 4Kids TMNT cartoon had Shredder get decapitated. (Due to his changed origin, he was able to walk away from the fight, though.) The guy that played Leo was also in The Venture Bros., and mentioned in a VB panel that someone got fired for allowing that to happen.

@TheTurtleNexus

I didn't come up with the numbers :p The year of publication is usually not the same year in the story. If I remember correctly, of those three years, one was spent in the farmhouse. But you know, continuity wasn't Mirage's strength, so things at some points, fans have to make decisions on how things fit for them.
