Love mine it was tough to find. Finally found it at Sportsman Warehouse seems like Leatherman was limiting distribution. Ask a salesman if they had it they checked and said no. Walking out the store they had some Leatherman hanging on a end cap, it was my lucky day one Earth hanging there. Bought mine in November. Just checked my case only A slot for one bit sleeve bummer.

Never felt like I would really benefit from an upgraded blade on my Wave. Because it (and probably the Charge too, given how similar they are) has pretty awful ergonomics as a knife, I just carry a dedicated pocketknife along with it whenever I think I'm gonna need a blade for more than a couple seconds. I do occasionally get some use out of the serrated blade as an auxiliary knife, but I think the Charge serrated blade is still just 420HC anyway? On the other hand, I love my Skeletool CX with the 154CM blade, specifically because its ergonomic enough to be a decent pocketknife that also just happens to have pliers and a screwdriver.

These tools are great for work because of what they used to cost 😆 the wingman was $70 😳 can't really afford to lose this one now unlike my $30 sidekick from 2016 😞 I've used their warranty policy afew times & have nothing but good things to say about that. ✌🏼 Great reviews & for me the pocket clip is a must, at least for a opinion

Bought myself the black oxide Surge for Christmas, and just checked the sheath that came with it. No front slot, just the back one. I ord'd the XL Molle sheath separately for the Surge. It has 2 front slots, and one rear slot. I can carry one bit kit and the file/saw blade plastic sleeve in the separate front slots, and the second bit kit in rear slot. Tight fit with it all in there, but no problem chance of stuff falling out. The XL Molle sheath had the velcro closure on the flap, which makes it easier to adjust the closure if all items aren't carried at the same time. Oh, and there was an excess amount (imo) of oil to remove from the black oxide Surge I rec'd.

No, it really isn’t. Blade steel is the first improvement. They have a lot of dead space in the Leatherman Surge as well. They have room to add an additional tool in the Surge with minor modifications. If you haven’t seen my Super Surge playlist, I encourage you to check it out. They could also add in scales much like the Charge series. There are a number of improvements that can be made to the Surge to make it even better than it is now. So, no. I do have TTi and unfortunatelly there are some friction when closing the file, the knife. From what I can hear, its also a case in this one.Basically everyone has this non centered tool friction with the scales. Do you happen to see improvements or a way to adjust this? In knife community if the blade is not centered when closed equals to bad knife maker, end of story. But with Surge, no one really talks about the fact that everytime you close the tool, you hear its scratching it to the scales as its never centered. Can you pls elaborate this was improved in g10? Thank you for all your videos.
@mike_qbik3 жыл бұрын
I will answer my own question. Its tight, not centered at all. All my tools are already scratched heavilly when closing. mainly are the pliers. Still love this thing, lighter then my TTi but that BO gets scratched and peeled off. I thout for this price tools should be centered as my Victorinox Swisstools. Either way, love this thing but be aware, the finish is not premium, sort of clumsy, each tool is heavilly scratched from the G10 when closing, the flex is apparent and does not help. Every tool has marks ONLY from closing . well ….btw the case is very small. too tight. FYI bought in Prague, Europe

I just received my Charge+ G10 Earth, and I must say that while it's a beautiful looking tool, I'm appalled by the tolerances. The tool was hard to open out of the box, and after trying to get it worked in by repeatedly opening and closing, the black oxide has worn off in several places around the pivot point. As in, clearly scratched off. Some of the screws are so tight, I need a pry-bar to extract the tools. For a tool this expensive, you should expect more. While I can't really judge the quality of the individual tools, my SOG PowerAccess Assist MT seems to be put together far better. Opening of the pliers is smooth, all tools are easily accessible and easy to extract. I will say I prefer the locking system on the Leatherman over the SOG, as well as the blade shape of the main blade, but beyond that I prefer the SOG on pretty much everything else.

@@txtoolcrib Got my G10 Earth today and have been comparing it for the past few hours with my TTI. It’s what I needed to be at peace with keeping the TTI. The G10 is beautiful and I like the lighter weight and feel, however right off the bat(and I know it just may be a fluke), when closing from full open pliers, the plier tips jam between the screwdriver and bottle opener on one side, and between the scissors and flat head on the other side. You have to get them out of there and close the pliers a little more or squeeze hard(blood blister already)and it suddenly slams shut. This has already caused severe scratching and gouges on each side of the pliers. Realized the black tools will get pretty scratched and beat upon regular use. Tried lubing everything with Tuff-Glide, but did not help the problem. Would hate to have to exchange or send them in already. Wish I could swap the needle nose on them, though! I was seen and the doctor told me that I had a migraine. Pronounced 'my-grain.' Despite my throbbing head, I thought it best, unwisely as it turns out, to correct him. "No no," I said, "the word is from the French. It is therefore pronounced "mee-grain. You know, like 'semi-final (semee-final)." "You surely mean 'semy-final'" he retorted. "No." "I know what you need" he said, "you need an injection in your ass." He proceeded to give me one and charged one hundred dollars for the experience. I learned my lesson that day. You say tomato and we say tomato. Let us cherish the difference. All the best from the town with four thousand holes.
