Leatherman has removed the wire crimpers from the tti. Right now we're in a transitional period where you might get one with it or one without depending on where you buy it

Those "rivets" look exactly like the screws that Leatherman used in the PST, and still use in the Supertool 300, Rebar and other products... they even have the gnurled edge for grabbing them with pliers.

The visibility of the G10 is a plus too. Maybe someone would prefer a more discrete one, but probably the color is what you want when you are you drop the tool for a moment, for sure will catch your eye. Can the tti be painted?

hello I have a problem with my leatherman plus TTI 832528 charge, I noticed that there was a little play on the Titanium pallet on the 8 screws which hold it, I can move the pallets by hand by 0.5mm , I wonder if it's normal, if I have to tighten them or it's normal, if someone can help me please, a known problem?

The Charge+ is NOT riveted together, those are bolts. They unscrew, I have taken these apart to customize them. You must’ve said rivet 10x in this video & that is incorrect

I guess the charge uses rivets because hard anodized aluminum doesn’t have high enough friction, and screws would easily get loose. I had coffee grinder with hard anodized alu threads and even if they are tightened up, they get loose from the shake of simply grinding coffee all the time.
@gearsNtools
@gearsNtools 3 жыл бұрын
interesting thought, I'd think they could alleviate this with simple locktight. someone else said the rivet heads are threaded so the tool can still be taken apart. I guess I just thought it was odd they used two different fastening methods, seems like it would have been more efficient to just use the same fasteners on all of their products.

@@gearsNtools they aren’t actually rivets. They are knurled screws that are held together with Loctite. Exactly the same function as the tti screws, just with a different screw head.

How is the centering of the tools on yours. Is g10better then TTi? My file and saw alway scratch the handles when closing. No one really talks about the centering on multitool reviews, but I think its quite important.
@gearsNtools
@gearsNtools 3 жыл бұрын
Good question! These seemed to be good. My friends TTI file rubs on the inside of his handle, very possible he bent it thru heavy use though.
@mike_qbik
@mike_qbik 3 жыл бұрын
@@gearsNtools I will answer to my own question. Unfortunately its all very "uncentered "on my Earth G10. I am really surprised no one is talking about it. The G10 handles are flexing a lot so some rub is expected. My black oxide on pliers, main knife is already very scratched . . but really only from opening and closing, not from using . . .grrr. I usually do care about my tools but these get damaged by themselves. Very surprised about it, but hey, at the end..its a tool and no showcase piece however I was very surprised its wonky and china like tolerance. Do not expect Victorinox / Sebenza kind of PRO tool. Its a tool, cool looking one. Maybe because its my first black oxide I did not expected it wears so easy. I did got used to it and like it so far. BUt for the price . . my TTi is even more appreciated now...;-)

They are better scissors than most multi tools. The paracord test is a hard one for scissors it this but flexible they have to grab it so it doesn’t slip out.

Hard to choose between g10 or tti. I think tti will last longer but i don't like the needle on tti version. I like that g10 is lighter and it has better grip but i don't know if it will last long

which is the best steel among the 3, the one that stays sharper and is more resistant? and the surge is better than the charge ?
@gearsNtools
@gearsNtools 10 ай бұрын
The Charge TTI has S30V steel which is going to be your best knife steel. The Charge Series is the size of the Wave and the Surge is a larger tool than those. if you need a bigger tool go with the surge. Blade steel on the surge is 420HC steel but it is a bigger knife.
