Leatherman CHARGE PLUS or SURGE ?

Charge+ G10 models (Earth, Red & Orange) have an S30V blade.
The Charge+ TTI similarly and has a crimping notch at the pliers (military use).
The SURGE is heavier and bulky but it is more robust, has more efficient scissors and allows the possibility of using hacksaws.

That’s easy, surge, I have the charge ti and the surge. Charge handle and grip is smaller, I do like the combination big and small bit holder for the charge, I modified my surge to have both bit holders.

I own the surge, the wave and the charge g10. I believe that the surge is the only multitool in some respects "similar" to a real tool (along with perhaps gerber center drive) in terms of robustness. It is fundamentally superior in terms of equipment and performance in everything to the charge. While maintaining the identical and excellent configuration. The scissors are the best I've seen on a multitool. However I only use it in the camper ... And I don't take it on the street, as it is heavy and at a police check it could give more problems due to the aggressive and imposing appearance and the size of the blades and above all the fact that they are one hand opening. On the street I sometimes take the charge which is much lighter. But often the victorinox spirit, because it is more low profile in a police check. In fact, it has no one hand blades, and the main blade is quite small and discreet. The real shame is that leatherman still hasn't made a version of the surge with premium steel blades ... Definitely a "commercial" choice. If it did, it would greatly reduce the sales of the charge series !!!

I like the Charge Plus because of the belt cutter (or dreaded blister packaging opener) and finer plier. I am just wondering on how to open it for maintenance. The Surge has security torx. How does the Charge Plus open?

If l had to choose one in an emergency situation, or in a genuine construction/trade scenario it would be the Surge everytime. It's a 'proper' tool. The Charge is something handy to leave around the house for minor projects, or throw in case if I'm going on holiday.

Surge is more powerful, charge is more delicious (scissors, pliers); Surge have more ability to upgrade with long saws and other self-made tools(I added some screwdrivers,awls,chisels,scalpels remaked from old saw blades); watch bit driver on charge steals too much place(like on old version of Surge);Surge have back lock for ring/clip which fix small screwdriver (not very important instrument for such multitool -as for me, I have small collet clamp with 4 or 5 removable screwdrivers on my bunch of keys - about 4 grams weight -never used last 3 years);charge have better steel on main blade, but it's more expensive(in Russia at least); Surge is more optimal on price/quality, I think...

If i can add hacksaw holder and awl on Charge i think it will be best multitool in world. But we all must not forget that multitools is not replace for good tool set, and if i must carry multitool everyday i prefer 100 gramms lighter Charge.

Thanks for the video. Looks like the Surge knife blade is feeble in quality compared to the Charge. Also, the Charge sawblade and file both have more cutting/filing area than the interchangeable blades on the Surge. The body of the Pliers and scissors on the Surge are both really big compared to the Charge, yet the area used for working on both are about the same. The pocket clip on that surge looks sketchy as well.
