The more time passes, the more appreciation I have for this little thing. People complain about using the file for metal, and getting metal shavings stuck inside due to the magnets... But reality is, this tool was designed for urban use! If you see it for what it is, it's a great EDC tool!

flash back to one of my Engineering classes: the Phillip's screw was invented by John Thompson in the early 1930's. it got it's name from the owner of the tool company that bought his design Henry Phillips.

Pair it up with a Knipex Cobra pliers, either the 4 inch or the 5 inch, and you'll find it superior to all the plier-based fold-out multitools. Knipex costs more than Channellock and Crescent 4.5 inch Tongue and groove pliers but 100% worth it. Worth a review...

I have a set of the 125mm knipex pliers and that’d go well with this, I carry an SAK daily too.

Very helpful video. It is more complicated deciding which multitool to buy then which EDC knife to buy. Decisions decisions. When on the go use the scissors more than the pliers. Still, not sure between the P4 and the T4. My uses are basically just EDC.

Leatherman generally hits it out of the ball park. The Free series took a little time to grow on me, but this is something that I would definitely put in my pocket knife rotation!
@jerryc58423 жыл бұрын
I like it also. I have had one for many months now. I upgraded to this after carrying a SAK for decades. you can't open a SAK with one hand. At least not the one I own. And the SAK doesn't have a locking blade. I like the locking blade. The Free T4 could be better looking though. Very nice to use in everyday carry. Thanks for the Good review. Keep doing what you are doing. I appreciate it very much.

well, there are many models of SAKs with locking blades, but not in 91/93 mm size. And only one model with pocketclip.

If you are not looking for a pair of pliars in a multitool, Leatherman? That opens up a WHOLE NEW WORLD of possibilities! If Leatherman actually took this approach seriously they could UTTERLY eclipse Victorinox.

Does it use that magnetic system like that free series to hold in the back side tools? The downside is the locking blade so illegal here in the UK ! Would be nice to see a non lock version though!

Chris, hope you and your family had a great Xmas! I really dig Leatherman products but have you found their stuff has been breaking lately? I personally have had 2 different tools break, Sidekick Philip screwdriver and Skeletool plier. I got them back repaired/replaced (eventually), but i feel like they would be good for light duty stuff. I wasn't abusing them and they were only 2 years old. Kinda feels like whats the point, i might as well keep a tool bag nearby instead. Your thoughts?
