I have owned a PS4 for about 15 years and it has held up well. I have never really thought much about getting a Micra until now. Your excellent review has convinced me to buy one. It is all about those scissors.

I've had a Micra for many years, and they are fantastic pocket tools. I keep a few in a few places. I usually carry a Style CS for a pocket multitool but I carried a Micra for a long time before that.

I had been debating whether to get the Micra or the Squirt PS4. But after many months, I realized that I do not think I would need pliers as much as scissors. But it is quite heavy for a keychain, so I put it in my Urban EDC Altoids tin. Will hopefully come handy in a pinch someday.

I agree. I do carry that Micra every day. Most of my fingernails are thin and constantly splitting if they get any length. That makes them prone to snagging on any little thread or whatever and tearing. I carry nail clippers, but the file on the Micra actually works better than the one on the clippers, and because the nails are so thin I need to file them after clipping. I reprofiled the blade to remove most of the curve bringing it to a more acute point. I also flattened the chisel grind making it much easier to keep almost scalpel-sharp with a bit of stropping. This makes it very handy for opening packages or excising coupons from the middle of the page with a very light touch and without having to cut all the way in from the side. I would love to see you review the Squirt Leatherman made for Radio Shack.

The Leatherman Micra is my fingernail clipper and personal care tool, so I wear the spring out and have to buy a new one about every 18 months or so. I carry it with the Wingman which gives me 2 usable scissors. The gas cap in my car gets stuck if someone closes it too hard, the small flat head/ cap lifter tool is what I use to pry around the cap to loosen it. The nail file and tweezers are also very useful.

Love the Videos Ben!!! My 17 year old daughter "borrowed" my PSTII (very sentimental) to use for one of her craft projects. Since then I have been thinking about getting her a tool of her own, and while the micra would be great as a personal care tool, she was actually using the needle nose pliers, so I'm thinking I might get her a wingman or a squirt. Can you make a suggestion Ben? Or perhaps a video about the options a Dad could get for his DAUGHTER that they might actually carry and grow to appreciate. You could target a tool for the young ones around 10 yrs old and another one for Adult daughters. Keep up the good content!

I bought the micra. I'm a big fan of leatherman products. The very first thing I did was check to see if the scissors would snip through paracord. My leatherman micra wouldn't cut through the 550 paracord . They cut paper fine .

Good in depth review. I own a Leatherman Micra. It's very slim enough to fit inside one of my coin wallet compartments. It's so handy to use. This week, I've used the blade to peel and sliced small carrots, used the scissors to cut away loose dags from clothing, and when the split ring attachment to my work's fob gate controller came off, I used the extra small screwdriver to unscrew the iddy-bitty philips screw, reattached the thingamajig, and screw everything back. A three minute job. The micra is definitely my edc. I'm off on a fishing trip this week, and the micra will be with me...including the wife. :)

If you have the Super tool 300. Or Rebar, the Micra is a good combination with theses tools that doesn't have scissors.

I purchased one based on your review. I'm really enjoying it. First day of having it, it came in handy to open a battery door on a toy for my daughter. Next on my list may be the Skeletool CX. I'm torn between that or SwissTool Spirit X. I'm leaning towards the Skeletool with the bit kit and extender. I can use those accessories if I decide to pick up a Surge for around the house jobs.

The thing with Leatherman tools is that they are really unweildy. Sure, it's nice to have in a pinch. Maybe to keep in my car. Then you have the smaller versions and they seem to be lacking the most useful tools. Which is why I always stick with SAK's. Victorinox just really knows how to put everything useful in a pocket sized package. Without being unweildy. They have a SAK for every need too.

Ah, my first Leatherman, the mighty Micra. Those scissors are amazing. I do not like the tweezers and the gap they leave, but whatever. I loved it so much that I started ordering others. And I love its big brothers, the Rebar and ST300. Another great video, Ben. Thank you for the no bs approach.

After seeing this review, this makes me severely wish I got the Micra for my keychain to augment my Gerber Center Drive or Super Tool. I bought a Surge + with bit kit instead (after much research) because I wanted the bit kit and extension AND the scissors and the plain blade in 1 package instead of carrying 2 tools. If I was willing to carry 2 tools, I could have saved up to $130 and had a tool like the Micra that I might have usage for outside of work if I put it on my keys.
