Managed to snatch a room at the Bavarian Inn for this year. Soooo excited! Been there a few times during Christmas , day trip and spent the night somewhere but this is our first time spending 2 nights across the street from front street with village view room. I'm beyond excited!!!

I drove three hours, through terrible weather, to see the "Christmas Lights" in Leavenworth, only to be very disappointed. Yes, there were lights. But not for the reason I was drawn to the town. Leavenworth is all about the Seattle Seahawks. The trees are decorated with blue and green lights. Seahawk ornaments adorn the tree, Santa's dressed in blue in green, and Seahawk paraphernalia dominating every shop window. There was even a guy selling his hand-made nativity scenes, where the three wise men, all wearing Seahawk jerseys, were giving Jesus Seahawk merch. I'm not much of a football fan, but my wife is, and even she was appalled by the obsessives lengths the town of Leavenworth had gone through to "Seahawk up" their town. If you are interested in visiting a Bavarian "Christmas town", Leavenworth is no longer the place in this video. If you are a fan of the Seahawks, and not really looking for a Christmas town experience, then I highly recommend that you visit.
