I used to take trips up to Vancouver when I lived in Seattle years ago. I heard about this "Canadians are nice" stereotype but after going there many times, I can see that the "Canada Nice" attitude is very similar to Midwest Nice in the US. It's polite and mild mannered on the surface but deep down, people don't actually care about you or each other and everyone sort of lives in their little bubble while secretly judging everybody else from afar. It's a weird vibe that makes me uncomfortable. It's not the kind of environment where you can be free to just be yourself. There's sort of a pretentious undertone where you have to look and act a certain way in order to fit in and be respected by people. Not my cup of tea. Good Luck to you though. This. The most accurate description of them I’ve read in a long time. Polite and mild mannered, but hugely passive aggressive when their narrative or entitlement feels threatened. Their true colours inevitably show when they’re given something that provides a stage for them to attempt to prove the identity they’ve created for themselves that they believe gives them relevance in the world. Inevitably sanctimonious in nature, the Canadian will usually try to assert relevance by comparing themselves to America in similar fashion to a jealous younger sibling intimidated by the successful and powerful firstborn son. Sad, fake, substance devoid NPCs. They love a good liberal echo chamber.

Canada looked so nice and welcoming from outside with all the "immigration propaganda", but as soon as I entered the country, I felt like Canadian people were polite and followed rules but they didn't really want me here, and I don't really belong here. There are some truly kind people here too like everywhere else, but it's difficult to tell because everyone is too shy and socially awkward, and I often see some random people with micro aggression, and some old people are very racist here. I try to stay positive and be kind to people, but the ratio of bad experience is so high that it's better to avoid interaction and stay miserable like Canada is a social prison. I'm considering moving out next year. It's like they made it look so good so that foreigners would come and work for Canada while they take unemployment checks by lying and complain about foreigners. Canada has superiority complex in which they have to compensate their inferiority about their lack of rich culture, creativity and economy, etc. It's ok to be normal. Canada is not special just like everyone else. I know it's difficult to stay positive among these cold people but we should not let it ruin our lives! We should stay positive and keep an eye on equal relationships.

In 2004 I wrote a somewhat famous article called 'Top 8 reasons not to immigrate to Canada'. In short, the Canadian authorities tried to destroy my life. They made it so that I could not be employable in Canada. So I moved to the U.S. in 2005 and then some years later I moved permanently to the Philippines. I am happy that so many years later videos like yours are saying essentially the same things that I did. I was ahead of my time. I will never go back to Canada. Not to live, not to visit, not even a connecting flight. Too cold, too expensive, taxes are astronomical, no freedom, no jobs, no opportunities, xenophobic people, too depressing. It has become the North Korea of the western world. Their are many reasons why Canada has fallen apart. But the number one reason is ‘multiculturalism’. My friends, multiculturalism simply does not work. Different cultures do not come together and mix, different cultures come together and clash. The world is divided into different countries for a reason: because people hate each other and only want to be with their own kind. The number two reason for Canada’s demise is ‘socialism’. In this modern era of aging populations, socialism is mathematically impossible to continue. The government does not have the money to take care of old people and provide healthcare, pensions and the various other benefits, even with the astronomical taxation that burdens hard working Canucks. Well Canada, you had a good run. Time for Canucks to move to an emerging country. We welcome you here in Southeast Asia.

I came to Ontario in 1986 and although I'm grateful my parents brought us over.......lol. My dad started to vocalise a lot of what you are saying in the video in the early 90s and by the time I turned 18 or so I realised he (and you) were right. The job market is a complete joke. Canadians talk about networking but they are actually referring to nepotism. The winter is beautiful but it goes on forever. I was back in Canada from 2017-2019 and were hit by a freezing cold snow storm in Southern Ontario in the last week of April. The housing market has been awful since the late 80s and it has only gotten worse. The government on both sides the aisle has completely screwed over middle and lower income locals and blatantly lied to immigrants. People are polite but it is often insincere. I actually find people friendly in the States and more honest about their feelings in Europe and Asia. I left Canada in 2007, 2014, and 2019 and I doubt I will ever come back. It feels good to hear other people speaking up and confronting the lies.

@@ChrisVincelli German-Canadian that moved to Germany with my family in 2019. In 2018-19, the job market was good, food and restaurants were cheaper, as a sole higher income earner, the taxes were lower than in Canada, schools through to University is free, etc. It's a beautiful country with lots to see and do. CoV!d broke the ice and showed you Germany's dark side. It can become a police state with the flip of a switch, with citizens turning on each other. By the time CoV!d wrapped up, it would not have taken much for the citizens and police to load the deplorable unv@xed into rail cars. Then came the impacts of printing Billions a week, a neuo-socialist coalition government and a war in the Ukraine to crash the economy and people's budgets. You have politicians that hate Germany being paid well to destroy it. So you have the same issues as in Canada; houses and condos have doubled since 2015, rents are unaffordable, fuel costs, electricity, food prices etc have increased 200-300%. The climate policies are destroying businesses and driving companies out of Germany. Unlike Canada or the US where many policies impact homeowners prospectively, German law makers make changes retroactively. For example, if you don't upgrade the energy efficiency in your home by XX, they will fine you on an increasing scale, then pull your occupancy permit. The goal is to have people, like seniors, that cannot afford the 100s of thousands it make take to upgrade an old house to sell it to Blkrocks, Vnguards of the World and rent. I'm waiting for my kids to finish their trade education, which is a bright light here and then we'll reevaluate where we move to. The main thing I miss is my freedom.

Canada in one line. Give 50% in tax before it hits your bank account, rest 13% when u buy anything, spent rest 37% in living monthly cost due to high living cost, and weather sucks (8 of 12 months) each year that means if you live 60 years 40 years u spend in cold, locked in your home.

@@ChrisVincelli one way would be to tax less. When working class is taxed less they save and invest in the economy more. They have money to spend. More people are motivated to work hard and earn more, when they know more than 60% is not going to government. Higher tax encourages mediocrity where people slack off because what is the use of working harder. Encourage investment in industries which make something and discourage investment in housing which doesn't make anything. House flipping and investment is just selling the rotting cheese to the next buyer/fool at higher cost with nothing invented or made. Money in housing is wasted. Someone might argue you get rent, but that again is invested in housing here in Canada, which again is wasted. The renter are wasting their major salary on rent, and landlords wastes on buying existing houses at higher prices. This creates nothing. Think about monopoly game. Canadian housing would be a monopoly game where 2 players would buy each other land/house for higher cost, and sell to each other again for more money. House/land flipping. The rent they get from other player landing on their tile would be again spent on buying other player house or land for higher price. Soon they will run out of money. In real world, Canada prints more money so we just get inflation and never run out money. But again this hampers real growth. This money could have been invested in infrastructures, Health, education, new industries, to promote entrepreneurs etc. People are really pissed here, when they worked 40 years and all they have is 1 house. Healthcare is in shambles and with long waiting time. What is the use of paying higher taxes when you can't get medical treatment on time and to get treatment you need to fly to another country, and pay out of pocket. I can write a book lol. Anyways people will figure it out now or later lol.

Ironically this is also the group most likely to favour them - woke policies, soft on crime policies, insane rates of immigration & refugee arrival despite a limited amount of resources, & pay rates and pensions for civil servants including teachers that are so far removed from what most private sector workers get, and every time a contract is up their unions demand the government bleeds us (taxpayers) more.

Agree 100%. I’ve lived in this country for most of my life and I can’t stand the climate (with the exception of far west coast) and the culty Canadian social culture (don’t rock the boat, pressure to be “open” to everything and no feeling of common culture or values) also, thanks to open door policies, housing is totally unaffordable and there is very little to see. I’m not an outdoors enthusiast (except beaches) and if you don’t like hiking, skiing, skating and other outdoor stuff, there isn’t much to do in the winters. It’s not a social culture of parties and get together in canada. I wish it was more so. Part of the problem is that the vast majority of people move to canada for economic reasons only. That does not breed much of a culture or a nation. I definitely dream of moving to the US. It’s tough because literally 95% my family lives in one province. Tennessee or Florida would be my top choices. I sort of wish my ancestors would have just stayed in Europe, where most places seem to have a more social “cafe” culture.

What is the benefit of coming to Canada now? When Canada opened up in the seventies, there were many advantages to coming to Canada. Back then there was a lot of work in the lumber industry in western Canada and big factories in eastern Canada. In those days, if you were willing to do any work, you would get a job within 8-10 days. In 1990, a bachelor apartment went for $500 a month and a one-bedroom was $600 a month. Almost all would get their 3-4 bedroom house within 10 years. Groceries used to be so cheap that $200 a month could support the entire family. The telephone bill was $10 per month. A Vancouver-Toronto bus ticket was only $100. School education was good, children had to give exams. It used to be very easy to see a doctor. Buses were less crowded. Now the standard of education has gone down so much that children become like robots after finishing school. If you have to go to the hospital, you have to wait for 8-10 hours to see the doctor. New immigrants find basements for shelter. Getting your own house has become a dream now. Those who have bought houses will have to pay the mortgage for a long time. Many homeowners are paying interest only, there is no reduction in the principal. Bus service is so sparse that sometimes more than 100 passengers wait for a 38-seater bus. International students are in a very bad situation. Spend 25-30 lakhs, live 4-5 together in basements and do hard labor jobs (warehousing, retail cashier, security). Even if they do 2 years diploma they do not get any good job, only minimum wage jobs. Those with good jobs or jobs (income of eighty thousands or more) should come to Canada with a lot of thought, because when they come here, they are all considered workers and they have to find low-paying jobs and have to live in often in basements. I think the British propaganda about anti-Americanism brainwashed a lot of Canadian's back in the day but still continues to this day. Just watch the many videos of what canadian's think about americans and 95% of them will only say extremely negative stuff about America and the American people. However, when Americans get asked what they think of Canada 95% is all positive. Seems a little immature on the Canadian's, got that little brother syndrome big time lol.

I am in Australia and I worked for CP Air and I agree with you 100%! ALL the overseas posted Canadians behaved as if we "Natives" were bellow their dignity @! Yet, 3 of us working at the airport did 100% of the work that 20 HQ employees in YVR covered!!!

These underlying problems have been there for as far as I can remember, for years and years masqueraded behind DEBT. People are buying way more house than they did in the 1960s (2.5 × the floor area), way more car than they did in the 1990s, and countries across the world are coming to reality with this. I've been living in Poland for the last 2 years, and housing affordability is a major concern for locals in Warszawa and Gdańsk. My colleagues based in the Netherlands and Portugal are extremely stressed about housing costs, and it is as much of a problem there as in any Canadian city.

Are you an immigrant. I would say don't listen to your parents no matter what but if you are then remember that since they migrated to Canada, then you have the right to leave Canada. Just make sure to be prepared whenever you go. Some people especially some immigrants can be ignorant about Canada thinking its paradise but remember that is not the case anymore mainly because they think only about money but there is more to life then money and maybe you might make more money outside of Canada too. Don't let their guilt tripping get to you.

I wanna leave, tons of reasons, #1 People are not nice. When I travel, people are nicer EVERWHER except England ... and that's it. It's not rudeness per say, it's more of not wanting the best for other people, and not whishing them to success in life, love, and their dreams. Hard to explain. And the intensity of the hate for the Truckers and millions of Canadians that supported them, truly displayed the hatred in the heart of at least 50% of Canadians. Plus Canadians really LOVES to believe TV lies. In US I would say 50% of the population believe their TV. In Canada, it's a good 70 to 85%
