Leaving Cert Higher Level Maths 2021 Paper 1 Question 1

Leaving cert higher level maths 2021 paper 1 question 1 is a complex numbers question. In part a we are asked to do a division of complex numbers, we use the conjugate for this. In part b we find the square root of a complex number using a method that some students may not be familiar with. Finally in part c we use De Moivre's Theorem to solve a complex equation.

Where did you get pi + 2npi from? Im confused because I thought the formula would make it just pi

Tulla maths KZbin does the exact same question and explains you need +2nπ for all possible values, all rotations (360°)

Could you have done that by de Moivre to the ^ 1/2 my answers were like 1.999999 + 2.99999i or did I have to round them to the nearest whole number

Yes DeMoivre's Theorem would work but as you said you have issues with rounding as you get a nasty decimal as the angle in radians. I would expect you will get at least high partial credit or even full marks for that.
