@@Bambotb I have online businesses that pay way more than the pension ever will. Also living in most Asian, GCC, and Far East countries is pretty cheap. Even $2000/mo goes a long way. IMO its better to spend your working age setting up location independent businesses that will pay more than ur pension.

I am a Pakistani born in Libya. I came to Pakistan as a 10-year-old and stayed there for 30 years. I moved to the UK and stayed for 10 years. I spent a couple of years in Germany and have been in Canada for a few years now. Even though I have multiple nationalities, I don't want to live in any of these countries. Therefore, I am now considering moving to Malaysia. We work throughout our lives, but when will we be able to spend on ourselves? I just want to retire in a maximum of two years, by the age of 55, and do things I like. I have been to the UAE many times, but usually, I never feel the urge to even leave the airport. It is just so superficial.

Living in Dubai is similar to living in Sydney. You don’t pay taxes in Dubai but paying for everything while in Sydney you pay about one-third in taxes and get little support for family(if eligible) and free education and some medical support. So in the end you save nothing in Dubai or Sydney so I don’t understand why people relocate to middle-east specifically Dubai after taking Aussie passport.

I almost never go through full podcasts - especially on subjects that are generally only 'moderately' interesting for me. Yet I sat through this one in its entirity (or paused the video when I had to step away). I was born/raised in Canada, but now call Europe home. I've travelled throughout the Middle East for business with quite a few of these trips to Dubai. I think a lot of the thoughts that were exchanged between the two of you really were fantastic perspectives and insights. I personally share a lot of your opinions with regards to money and money management. Thanks for your efforts with this video, and congratulations on presenting it in such a meaningful way.

My brother moved to Dubai from Canada and went through this same experience. Spent so much money just to get noticed. At first he asked me to move there from Canada but I refused. Now even he's moving out of Dubai. In my opinion, North America somehow has developed better family values than even India. Can't even imagine how it must be in Dubai!

Might be off topic but extremely important since you mentioned you have investments in US stocks. Look up "US Situs Asset Tax". If you don't live in US and hold investments in US, there is a 45% inheritance tax on US investments including stocks. Best way is to hold stocks under a company from the time you start investing. But if you haven't done that, better late than never. Once you have understood this, maybe create some content on this topic to help others.
