As someone who spent half her life living abroad I know the feeling of excitement of coming to your own country. The way you can’t sleep before the long flight. Can’t wait to feel belongingness bc you dont look like a foreigner and that you belong there even though it seems like another world to you. You blend in. Childhood memories come back thru different sights, smells and even sounds.

It's like everyone knew that good sushi is hard to find outside of Japan so they went for one last sushi meal before going back to American food. It's been a while so I wonder how much of a culture shock going back will be, it's where they're from but they are also growing up in a very different world in Japan. It's a big enough culture shock moving during university and going back to where I'm from, I always wondered what it's like as a kid from America who is growing up in Japan going back after living in Japan a long time. I guess you're around other expat friends so it's probably not as big a deal as I'm imagining but at school around friends they probably act quite different to how people do in America.

Was it Joshua's birthday while on the trip? Was that why he got a gift when the girls did not? Did they allow you to take off your masks on the plane? I am desperate to travel to the UK but their regulations are really stiff. Hope you had a great trip!
@LIJ3 жыл бұрын
Joshua got a present for doing the PCR test (his was much worse than the others). And no, we wore masks the whole time we were on the plane (and in the airports as well) until we finally left.

I am glad you guys made it safe back home. It is a little more nervous time for all international travelers with some extra requirements to follow - since every country has a unique covid measure now. My Kids left for their two-month long Japan stay back in June and are returning back tomorrow. Before they left the US, besides PCR testing, we found they wouldn't be able to enter Japan with their US passports and their Japanese passports were expired. They needed to rush to apply for a temporary passport at the consulate a few days before their flight. That was a huge hustle. >< Have a wonderful time with your family and friends!! =)

I was wondering where you got their PCR tests? I’m nervous about getting the correct test on the MOFA form.
@cscapecreative173 жыл бұрын
@@ruthreutter8355 We downloaded and brought the blank copies to the testing site and handed in. We picked up the signed copies along with their negative test results on the next day. I believe most locations fill out the form for you, but you may want to check with your site prior to making your appointment. Good Luck!!
