Why you don't use the smaller riffles in your pan ?

I probably should, iv always just used the larger ones because I’m fairly comfortable with my panning technique and don’t lose any gold

I shall give it a go next time, I have used them before but this pan is only one of many that I use, when I’m panning down fines or black sands I don’t use ruffles at all.

Cheers, it was from eBay some time ago, I havnt seen them on there for a while but there are similar ones that are green, just choose a mesh size, my purple one was 1/4” from memory
