Hello everyone,
I am excited to show you my newest planner update for 2024. I have always loved using Hobonichi notebooks such as the Hobonichi cousin and Hobonichi weeks, but have recently found myself really loving the B6 Papertessdesigns notebook. I was lucky enough to snag on and so I made the official move in May and purchased a Filofax Malden cover to go along with it. Overall I love this new planner setup and find it very functional and enjoyable for all my journaling, memory keeping, scheduling, and sketching practices. I hope you enjoy this updated flip through!

It's so funny how Megan Rhiannon has everyone in the planning/commonplacing community on a chokehold, years ago filofax was like for old office people or moms, but now every millennial and zillennial has something to say about it

I’m a millennial and you are so right, I’m constantly telling my boyfriend how the planner community is and its’s a love/hate thing for me. I grew up always having a diary and using my mom’s old date books. I remember the Mead five star and the Franklin Covey . I started actually using them for their purpose when I hit middle school in the early 2000s. Now I cringe sometimes at the hype but I’m also guilty of it.

Yeah I think Megan has really opened the doors to the community and has definitely contributed to its inclusiveness. I think she’s so loved because she offers such a unique perspective compared to a lot of OG and “traditional” planner channels. Her impact has done many interesting things to the community for sure.

I love seeing so many creators planner hopping this year! It’s great to see everyone willing to explore and find what works best for them. Moved from Hobonichi to Sterling Ink (and back to Hobo, then back to SI 😂) in April.

Loving your black and white strawberries. Also, the I believe it is a Doberman drawing looks great. That drawing reminds me of my two Dobies. I've always love PaperTessDesigns font and used to love her printables for my B6 Stalogy. Planner looks great and thank you for sharing.

I like thinking of blank pages as interludes. Another thing that has helped me from @theroseylifeplanner suggested that blank pages sometimes me you are out living life!

Love all your varied ways to use your pages. Very inspiring. I am interested in the idea of weeks with dailies collected right there. I am using a Cousin right now, and I think I would use dailies more if they were right there. I might give this planner a go in A5. Looks like the undated yearly A5 has all the months together at the front, which is fine with me. And July is a perfect reset time for the second half of the year, right?!

I just de-ringed a personal Filofax original. Did you add eyelets to yours? Or are the rings easier to remove on the Malden?

I didn’t add any eyelets, there’s two small holes in the spine but I don’t mind it. This is my first time removing Filofax rings so I have nothing to compare it to but it was fairly easy and probably took about 10 minutes or so!

I like watercoloring on this paper too and although I liked the OG Tamoe River paper, once I got used to it, I now prefer the new paper

@@torionpaper I’m a speech pathologist and our youngest daughter had more Emilyisms but our favorites were: Scrungebob, yogrit and Oh-lives - of course I had to work with her on them (they wouldn’t be cute when she was 10) but those were her words! (She’s 25 and now an Environmental Engineer working with water distribution projects- she’s glad I showed her how now 🤣)

You mentioned in one of your videos the Preppy pen and the Pilot. Which nib do you recommend? When i looked to buy one there is fine and medium nib. I use the Hobo Cousin book so which is best for that? It will be my first fountain pen. Thank you

I personally like a thicker nib, I have the 03 and 05 size in the platinum preppy pen. I think 03 would be better if you are someone who is used to more fine nib sizes but if you like really bold THICK letters then the 05 is great

I really like the Zebra Sarasa Airdrift grip in .5 or lately I’ve really been liking the Energel Clena in .5 (this one doesn’t smudge if you highlight over it like the Zebra does). I hope this helps!

Hmm good question! I feel like I have seen people put their SI in a Malden but I’m not 100%. If you search the dimensions of the B6 and SI you might be able to tell that way :)

I've been trying to figure out how to make this happen in an A6 (my best solution so far is cutting up a Weeks and tipping the weekly page into an A6), I'd love for her to make one for next year. That weekly overview is a game changer.

I have been looking for a planner that keeps the days with the week and weeks with the month. I don’t do well with horizontal weeklies, but in terms of organization, this makes a lot of sense to me.
