The music sounded like something from Out of Africa. It was quite cool. In fact, as you were cruising along, I swear I spotted the boat African Queen lurking in amongst the mangroves. I wish I had known you were passing my house. I was obviously in because my flag was flying. You could have stayed for tea and tiffin.

Keep those rants coming Will. At the end of the day as we learn what appeals to you most about leading a narrowboat lifestyle and being captain of your own boat, a leader not a follower ;) Keep all forms of technocracy at arms length, sadly though, in this modern so called 'smart' world its almost impossible it doesn't creep in to your day to day activities in some way, but its the small things (like not using apps or owning a smart phone specifically built for using them) I believe, from certain corners of the internet, you are, to coin a phrase, a "Based" narrowboater :)

Oh I totally agree. We are becoming to addicted to apps. Just to use my micro phone I need an app. App this app that. I went for a breakfast and the waitress was standing next to me but I couldn't order without an app. They suck us in then target us with ads. Watch where we eat and where we shop. It's going down a wrong road...See got me on a rant now. Ha ha

Loved the part about your school days and how you disliked school. Agree 100% with what you said. Reminded me of how I used to be and how I felt about school. We are not all made to fit the mold, as some of us like to go our own way! Keep up the great vlogs, always look forward to watching them whilst relaxing on my own narrowboat. I visited York in 1991. What a beautiful place! Spent entire week there! The city walks and the Shambles! And the cathedral!!

I also didn't feel school was for me (like many I think) I always felt school was a cattle grid, the few who did well were encouraged but the majority who didn't (those that fell through the cattle grid) were just funnelled through it and chucked out into the world, I started work labouring long before I officially left and never ever missed it. Didn't stop me getting on in life although I'd be mortified if my kids didn't want to go anymore lol

Yes it's those early years the system gets us and moulds us for compliance. Council schools for the labour force private for leader jobs. Alot of it is just useless rubbish. No good for the real world. I started work as soon as I left school. I don't miss it. My son's in massive debt from uni..He enjoyed school so that's good. Have a great day)eve etc...

I think allot of us agree about education Will. They teach (or try to teach) you things that will more than likely never be used in your life in the future. The math they teach is absolutely ridiculous and who really cares about Napoleon or Henry the VIII? What good is it to know about these old men and their women? It's not going to teach you about having good work ethics, balancing a check book, speaking proper English and treating others like human beings. Loved the music.

I wasn't a big fan of school but at least when was there we had cooking, woodwork, metalwork, sawing classes. I enjoyed those. Mostly computer tech now. All the old skills are going. Thankyou for watching again Sandy...

When you mention the boat that reminds you of the film Jaws at 17.50 the widebeam directly behind it called Bails belongs to the uncle of Narrowboat vlogger Cruising Alba Myles. Boating with hubby he never had a problem. Got down on his knees and filled a paper cup, hands free. Always pretended he was busy with ropes or something and since he was hidden below the waist by the sides of the boat, no problem. Of course the women had to wait/suffer till it's beached somewhere. Now a days, there are so many cell phones w/cameras you gotta be careful. Just remember to keep smiling and they'll never know. Of course, don't go under a bridge with people on it at the same time. lol
