Im sure that last session is tugging on Brandy's heart too. I was not a therapist but I drove school bus for 23 years and over those years I drove quite a few students from the age of 4to 18 or 19. Watching them grow and learn put a smile on my face but watching them leave the bus for the last time brought many tears to my eyes. Thank you again for sharing your lives with us

I know women should be able to come and go as they wish. But unfortunately it’s not safe. I always taught my daughter to be aware of her surroundings. Even when walking through a store parking lot in broad daylight. Just so scary. So nice of you to stay and make sure those ladies were safe.😊

Thank you so much for looking out for them! I had a guy friend who insisted on walking my friend and I to my car one night after watching him perform at a bar. We kept telling him we would be fine but he insisted anyway. We found out on the news the next day that the very same night and area I was parked in, two girls were apparently mugged and had their car stolen. I was so thankful for him because that could have been us!

When I was a little bit younger in my early 20s to mid 20s I used to walk home from my work to my home. It was about a 30 minute walk. It was down a bike path pretty much straight from my house to my work. Sometimes I do it in the evenings but I would always make sure I had someone on the phone with me and I have my headphones in but I have one ear completely exposed so I could hear everything going around me and I was cautiously looking and I stayed on the phone with one of my guy, friends or one of my brothers, my parents until I stepped through my door in my house or the door to get into work, and I was always aware of my surroundings always paying attention turning around periodically just to make sure the worst encounters I personally had was a couple coyotes crossed my path, but I gave them their distance. I started talking a bit louder the person, and they just walked away, mind their own business.

Oh man, I second that thought about not leaving another person, regardless of gender. I was out camping with a bunch of people that I didn't know ( I was invited by two of them that were my friends so they weren't all strangers) but one of the people I didn't know was a bit of a big, rough guy and he was pretty plastered and he's also an insomniac so no one could stay up past him so we could avoid him a bit. One of my friends stayed up as me and the plastered guy were the two left (I have trouble sleeping too). He didn't even tell me he was doing that, just waited it out, stayed close to make sure I was going to be okay since we both weren't too sure about the guy. I called it a night eventually and by morning on the ride home with my friends, he let me know about what he was thinking and I was so dang grateful

Glad you listened to your gut, Asa-- so many of us don't. That dude was bad news. My family thinks I'm overly cautious because when I go walking by myself I take my Birdie (loud obnoxious alarm), mace, and a titanium pen should I need to poke out someone's eye. I also make sure my husband mentally registers what clothes/shoes/hat I'm wearing. And if my husband is at work, I'll text my brother that I'm leaving for a walk. Crime time is any time-- no matter where you live! Let's all watch out for one another.

I was in a similar uncomfortable situation at a KFC restaurant just yesterday. Some guy from the streets walked in asking for an exchange for some money that he had and was there for a few minutes acting all strange and everything. And because I am a woman, and a woman with autism, he looked threatening to me, but fortunately he didn't know I was there and he eventually left the store and ran off. He may have been homeless, I don't know, but it really scared me.

Yes stay with people especially if you feel uncomfortable with someone who could cause trouble. On days when I close up for work I wait until everyone is starting to drive off before I go to leave. Never know if someone is going to have car trouble or human trouble if you leave. I always walk with headphones in but not turned up loud that I can’t hear around me. I typically walk in open areas so people can see me and if I need to run for help I can.
