Hi Vincenzo, thanks... we're moving house again and got no internet at the new place until Thursday, but then hopefully I'll be able to record videos until my heart is content!

Dear Alex, I've watched your video with mixed feelings of shame, disdain and hatred for the government, and relief upon your exit. The phone inspection was an Orwellian overreach, deeply unsettling. It's a grim reminder of the liberties some governments are willing to trample upon. Your departure from such a dystopian setting was a welcome conclusion. Thank you for sharing this cautionary tale. Best, Konstantin

Hai Alex, first of all I wish you a happy married life. Congrats. I was wondering why there was such a big void n your channel; however, listening to your whole story of your relieved departure from Russia, I am quite happy for you. I am looking forward to some nice content hereafter. I would like to suggest the topic - Accuracy vs Fluency, for your next video. Cheers.

Thanks. Now that I've had some time to decompress since coming back from Russia I feel more in the frame of mind to make more videos and content - my living situation is a bit up in the air, but hopefully all sorted out soon and then I'll be able to start pumping the content out again. Accuracy and fluency - yes that's a nice topic... I'll see what I can do.

Hello, Alex, I was your ielts student two years ago and today I've noticed this video from you and I've been interested in what happened to you. Honestly, I am really glad for you and your wife, that you can live normal life in your country. I always questioned myself about people like you, who were born in Europe and came to live in Russia, like WHYYYYY you chose Russia... Because in my opinion (although I was born in Moscow) Russia is so primitive, compared to the UK or the USA... May be I am not right and I know that something in Russia might be better. But still, I think that you are lucky to be British and your country is more comfortable even taking into account some political issues (because they exist in every country). I'd really love to be European, but unfortunately the place of birth is impossible to choose like this :)) Anyway, wish you luck :) and I'm curious if you have an opinion about things that I've said about the UK and Russia (?) it'll be interesting if you answer something, because I can't imagine anything, obviously. I've lived only in Montenegro - from the moment when the war have been started, and visited Italy, Georgia and Finland as a tourist.

Hey there. I remember. I hope I helped you get the results you wanted! Yeah, I never came to Russia thinking that I would have a better life than in the UK. More the case that I wanted to experience the world and see how other people live, challenge myself so that I would grow as a person, help less fortunate people than I. I think it is maybe a luxury for westerners that we have things pretty good and so we can do that. On the other hand many people around the world want to leave their country and find a better life elsewhere. I've never met a Russian who believed their country was the best in the world. My experience wasn't that everything was terrible, and even there are things I miss about Russia, but yeah there is a lot that could be improved. Certainly, I value that when my government make a mistake (in my opinion), I can (at least at the moment) voice my opinion freely. I hope Montenegro is treating you well!

Sorry for asking but, did Russia pay well?

It's all relative. Relative to the west, no. But the cost of living is cheaper in Russia. I've never been in this field for the money though.
