Hi guys have a safe journey, I’ve been using that crossing for the last seven years, I never empty my fridge always take meat and dairy no one ever looks in your fridge. I always get the 20% discount and if I’m on a night crossing I use that for an inside cabin and it’s great, a big save on fuel as it’s 100 mile difference between Calais and Dieppe. Aw . You should have had a wander around Dieppe , its lovely .. Brilliant street market on Saturday with amazing local food plus the seafood restaurants in town are selling fresh seafood and good value Plats du jour... On your way out of town and not far from the Hypermarche are the commonwealth war graves from the Dieppe raid in WW2 .. Mainly Canadian. Moving and sad.. But serene and peaceful... On the same subject there are commonwealth graves in Seaford cemetery and mainly from veterans of WW1 and the graves of soldiers and heroes from the West Indies .. Going back to Dieppe it would have been worth the short trip to see the beach where the Canadian troops were landed only to suffer massive loss... The trip between Dieppe and Rouen is a short hop and Rouen is probably the most beautiful city in Normandy ... Enjoy the journey .. Loving you two .. Rouen is my favourite location in the north and going south the trip up to Andorra from France is just Lovely..

Hi, I’ve traveled newhaven to dieppe many times. It does get very busy at times but is still our favourite crossing. There are so many beautiful places in France but I would recommend Carcassonne. Made me jealous watching it, can’t wait to go back. BAZ

Good vid, we are off on Wednesday to newhaven to dieppe, to head to tour Normandy beaches. First time on this crossing but looks good and we are excited. Especially to take my new to me car on its first adventure. Ive only seen one negative vloger who did come across as a bit fussy with very high expectations for a budget crossing. But i was presently surprised the 4hr crossing is slightly cheaper than Dover. We went the other year on the mc Plymouth to Santander to tour the pecos amazing trip, and Britney ferry’s wear good, but do find them to be one of the more expensive ferry’s. But worth it on the longer sailings. My experience with dfds has been good as well. But thanks for sharing your crossing and enjoy your trips.

We are in the process of planning our first trip to France in the motorhome and so your series is going to be really helpful for us, especially as we have yet to choose which way to cross the channel but, we have the added difficulty of taking the dog, Keeva the Pickle. You ask, what is our favourite place in France? To be honest, it’s the whole of France! Can’t wait to see your shopping trip and price comparison, although the price of a bottle of wine seemed very appealing. Don’t forget to check out the chocolate, When we go to France, we love to peruse the sweetie and chocolate aisle as there is always some amazingly tasty things to eat there. Have a great time. We have only done one trip abroad in our self converted VW went to Spain last year, did the 2 nighter to Santander. The food there was very good value and fabulous quality. I wondered do the supermarkets near the ports ramp the prices up as they know folk will be coming in to stock up? Be interested to hear if it’s pricey all over.

Hi, we absolutely love our older style van, we were limited by budget when we bought it, but even when we looked at newer models we found they weren't quite as sturdy. The only issue with an old van is there is always something to fix, the old saying " the only thing always working on a motorhome is you" has an element of truth 🤣 but if you're handy you can get a bargain. We found looking for your preferred layout very important plus think about your bed situation, for some making a bed is a deal breaker but we (or Gary) doesn't mind it too much, hope that helps, Julia and Gary 🥰
