I think we have officially hit the peak of grunge gaze. With so many bands reliant so heavily on vibes, atmospheric sounds and midrange reverb-soaked vocals, it makes me long for discernible lyrics and vocal hooks to make its comeback. For the record, I love this band, love this genre, love this sound but I’m not sure I could sing the words to much of any of their songs or even songs from their peers when I reflect. Whenever a genre gets oversaturated, the real ones will rise to the surface and outlast the rest of the pack. Looking forward to where the scene goes from here.

The genre really peaked with Teenage Wrist and Narrow Head imo, before Kamtin left. Don’t get me wrong, there’s still a lot to love. But yeah, after a while a lot of them sound the same. Gravedweller is another good one
