We Trinis acknowledge that Jamaica is beautiful and built for Tourism and we can't compare with them when it comes to beaches and rivers as you can see. But when KZbinrs visit Trinidad or any other small island after visiting Jamaica and then showcase how beautiful that small island is. Some Jamaicans get very offended when you all rate that small island highly. They jump in the comments and make negative comparison about that island (ask African Tigress), so when they do, we attack them viciously. You will never see a Trini doing such negative comparison when Jamaica is being showcased.

In terms of the candles and flowers could be 1. A lot of religious groups come to blue basin for baptisms and stuff so maybe something like that 2. Blue basin is quite dangerous especially during rainy season. It is 20 ft deep so sadly it has a good bit of drownings that happen every year at that place so maybe someone passed and they were paying their respects since flowers and incense are common for memorials here.

The discovery of oil, 1857, during the British monarchy in Trinidad pushed us into power and leader classism amongst the islands of the caribbean region. Countries like everywhere else around the world do compete with each other, the caribbean is no different. In 2024, the islands which are british, dutch and french are intertwined between the independant ones. The rest of the world believe we (caribbean) are all just palm trees, happy beaches and warm sunsets.

Hey Po Jo, I think people who are saying Jamaicans don't like the spotlight being shine on Trinidad, should say some Jamaicans, as a Jamaican, I also know many Jamaicans who are not unhappy about the spotlight being shine on T&T. We are all one Caribbean and many of us have friends from all the Islands as Caribbean people living in the Diaspora as well as many in Jamaican who have T&T connection in one way or another from intermarriage, work, etc. So, the very negative vocal Jamaicans should be ignored., They are not the masses, just the peanut gallery, who are clueless of others, showing their negative colors. A Trini You Tuber once said he was in Canada and someone asked him where are you from? He said TRINIDAD, the Canadians responded where in JAMAICA is that? Jamaicans are NOT thinking about Trinidad or Barbados PERIODT. But clearly they think about us! The rivalry is ONE-SIDED, It's just pure jealousy. Yes Jamaica has many problems but we remain the most culturally impactful nation in the region through sports, music, TOURISM, entertainment and other individuals that thrive for and accomplish excellence despite our crime rate, economic woes or corrupt government we still manage to produce world class excellence and leave our mark on the world stage.

That's an old story from 40 years ago. With social media and modern interactions other Caribbean islands are more known.
