Hi Pojo, there's a place called Backyard Cafe that's supposed to have really good local food, including pepper pot daily. I've never been to Guyana, but I saw it on KZbin.

I think because you don't really know many people here or because Guyanese are not so familiar with your channel is why you're not getting that friendly welcome you heard of... I bet after this as people get to know you the next time you visit your experience will be much better... Hey, you probably had pumpkin in Jamaica, but not the way the Guyanese and Trinidadian make it. I've had the pumpkin from Guyana and Trinidad and it is definitely cooked differently and tastes really good. I am not sure if it is cooked like that widely in Jamaica.

For the people of Guyana, he may have said it incorrectly however, in the United States we put the flavor first and then the meat such as chicken curry, jerk pork, teriyaki chicken. So he was using his dialect and he did ask if he was saying it correctly. And all depends on what part of the world you're from.👍🏽
