Christianity Judaism Islam are all pretty much the same but they all have different off shoots, so instead of working with the similarities they tend to argue about the differences. Just like England's history changing from Catholic to Protestant then back to Catholicism then back to being Protestant over and over again and whilst this happened there was loads and loads of religious wars regardless that they was both Christianity. Queen Vic hates the Irish in part due to the Catholic nature of the country and whilst not a fully religious war in NI the protestants wanted to stay loyal to the Queen are Protestants and the Republicans are Catholics and look how long the troubles went on for, and there are still divisions today although this is changing with the new generations. So you could say the war for Irish independence was a religious war amongst Christians. This is a very basic explanation as it was many many times more complex than just Loyalist and Republicans. Watch a documentary on the troubles, it's a little like what's going on, but the wars I'm the Eastern Med although this is on steroids (Israel, Gaza and Lebanon are not in the middle east one bit, just as Greece, Cyprus and most of Turkey are not in the middle east)
