Are you stupid? At the moment almost half the population of Lebanon are Palestinian and Syrian refugees. Lebanon is in a state of economic collapse thanks to financial mismanagement and corruption. They have electricity for only a few hours a day and trash is building up as the bin men are on strike. They can't even feed and clothe their own Lebanese citizens. Lebanese with passports are leaving the country in droves. If Lebanon gave Palestinians Lebanese citizenship, they would compete with their own people for the few jobs out there. The Palestinians would vote with Lebanese Sunnis, since most are Sunni. This would break the fragile power balance in Lebanon with regards Christians and Shia Muslims. Then you would have another civil war like they had in the 70s and 80s. And a lot of Lebanese blame Palestinian PLO for that earlier bloody civil war.

Yes, taking into consideration as well that the majority of the Palestinians living in those assigned ghettos are highly educated. 2nd of all I am not sure why you dragged religion into it as it ain't like this especially in Palestine due to the unity of both Christians & Muslims unlike the revolting divisions in Lebanon supported by some of the populace. @Elena A an honorable research conducted by the Lebanese newspaper As-Safir led by its media editor, Mr. Talal Salman, under the title: "The Palestinians, the jewel of the Middle East".The research indicates the size of the role that the Palestinians have played - and are still playing - in many aspects of life. The research says: (The Palestinians, the jewel of the Middle East) / by Mr. Talal Salman - quoting the Lebanese newspaper As-Safir . The Palestinians, the jewel of the Middle East 2008, by Mr. Talal Salman - quoting the Lebanese newspaper As-Safir Many of you do not imagine the size of the role that the Palestinians have played and are still playing to this day in the economy of Lebanon, and if this is due to a severe blackout, the Palestinian in Lebanon if he is wrong is a scandal and witnesses to it, and if it is accomplished, keep silent on the matter and do not announce it. This is the truth. Do you know that the Palestinians of Lebanon in the UAE transfer annually to Lebanon, and this, according to Al-Khaleej newspaper, is $ 368 million. Do you know that the graduates of the American University in Lebanon are Palestinians who are equal to or more than the Lebanese? And when you enter the university, this is the hall of Talal Abu Ghazaleh, this is the Hassib Sabbagh hall, and this is the hall of Kamal Al-Shaer, all of them Palestinians who contributed to building and developing the university Palestinians with special donations from them. Here are some of the names that descend from a Palestinian origin in Lebanon and played a big role in it, and I repeat there is a great blackout on that, and if these people appear and appear as Lebanese because of their naturalization and they are not Palestinians and of course I mean most of them and not all of them (the Lebanese prosperity did not really begin until after the Palestinian catastrophe in a year 1948). Before that era, until the thirties of the twentieth century, Lebanon was just a group of villages scattered in the mountain characterized by healthy air suitable for Palestinian, Syrian and Iraqi holidaymakers, but with the fall of Palestine in 1948, refugees carried with them to Lebanon in one payment about 15 million pounds, which equals more than $ 15 billion in prices those days. This has triggered a very positive economic boom. The trained Palestinian workforce & Managerials has contributed to urbanization and the development of the Lebanese coastal plains, and monetary capital has sparked a state of broad investment recovery. The closure of the Haifa Port and the Lod Airport was a very important issue in transferring trade in the eastern Mediterranean to the Port of Beirut and then in establishing the Beirut International Airport after Bir Hassan Airport was just a modest station for receiving small aircraft. In this context, many Palestinians who have had a great deal in Lebanese prosperity shine in Lebanon, such as: Youssef Baidas (founder of the Inter Bank, Lebanon Casino, Middle East Airlines, and Baalbek Studio). Haseeb Al-Sabbagh and Saeed Khoury (founders of the Contractors Union Company). Raised Al-Nimer (Arab Federal Bank, then Beirut Trade Bank, First International Bank). Basem Fares and Bader Al-Fahoum (Arab Insurance Company). Zuhair Al-Alami (Khatib and Alami). Kamal Al-Shaer (House of Engineering). And Raymond Audah (Bank Audi). Tawfiq Ghargour (Mercedes, Lecico, and other large commercial projects). The first company to distribute newspapers and publications in Lebanon, founded by a Palestinian, is the "Faraj Allah" Company. The first chain of ready-to-wear shops is the Palestinian (Atallah Fareej Shops). The first to establish supermarkets in Beirut is the Palestinian Mr. Odin Abella, who himself is the owner of the famous chain of restaurants in Beirut International Airport and the Casino of Lebanon. The first to establish an auditing firm in Lebanon was Fouad Saba and his Palestinian partner, Karim Khoury. The first to initiate the construction of the furnished apartment buildings in Lebanon are the individual Sebti and Tofel Boutahi the Palestinians, in addition to Abdel Mohsen Al-Qattan, Mahmoud Fustuk and many others. In the early days after the Nakba, some Palestinian families were notorious for their prominent development in the groves of the South, such as the Ataya family. The Palestinian labor force also had a presence in the laboratories of Jabr, Ghandour, Assily and Yemeni, and among the Palestinian university professors were Nicola Ziada, Burhan Al-Dajani, Nabih Amin Faris, Salah Al-Dabbagh, Nabeel Al-Dajani, Youssef Al-Shibel, Jin Makdisi, Rita Awad, Victor Sahab, Yusriya, Arnita, Raja Tannous, Samir Seikali, Mahmoud Zayed, Issam Mayassi and Issam Ashour and Tarif Al-Khalidi. Among the plastic artists, Juliana Seraphim, Paul Geragossian, Naji Al-Ali, Ibrahim Ghanem, Tawfiq Abdel-Al, Maliha Afnan, Ismail Shamout, Muhammad Al-Shaer, and Kamil Hawa emerged. In the press, a constellation of Palestinians appeared in Lebanon that had an impact and impact such as: Ghassan Kanafani, Nabil Khoury, Nayef Shiblak, Tawfiq Sayegh, Kanaan Abu Khadra, Jihad Al-Khazen, Najeeb Azam, Despair, Nawas, Samir Sanbar, Despair Sanbar, Despair, Sahab, Khazen Aboud, Muhammad Al-Adnani and Zuhdi Jarallah. The first to arrive at the South Pole in a scientific mission and raise the Lebanese flag there is the Palestinian refugee to Lebanon, George Domani. One of the pioneers of tourism work in Lebanon is the Palestinian Sami Karakbi, who was the first to make the Jeita Grotto on such splendor and the first to drive a jumbo plane at MEA is Hanna Hawa, the Palestinian. Among the first founders of scientific research centers in Beirut was the Palestinian Walid Khalidi. In the field of literary criticism, Dr. Muhammad Youssef Najm and Dr. Ihsan Abbas are famous. Among the pioneers of the radio work are Kamel Qostandi, Ghanem Al-Dajani, Subhi Abu-Lughod, Nahda Fadli Al-Dajani, Abdul Majeed Abu Laban, Sharif Al-Alami and Rashad Al-Bibi. Among the pioneers of theatrical groups and radio work is also Mr. Sabri Al-Sharif, who had great credit for the Rahbani brothers and the Baalbek festivals. Among the pioneers of modern archeology at the Lebanese Palestinian universities is Dmitry Baramki, director of the American University Museum. Among the pioneers of mathematics teaching in Lebanon were Jamil Ali, Salem Khamis, Abdel-Malik Al-Nashif and Wasfi Hijab. Ahmed Shafiq Al-Khatib, Constantine Theodori, pioneers of the dictionary work, and Saeed Al-Sabbagh were the first to specialize in cartography .. And the first to launch the idea of establishing English language schools were the Palestinians Emile Aghaabi and Wadi Jamal. The first Arab resident president of the American University is the Palestinian Dr. Ibrahim Al-Salti. Among the Palestinian music pioneers in Lebanon are Farid, Hanna, Richard Al-Salfiti, Halim Al-Roumi, and his daughter, Magda Al-Roumi, if she wanted, and Riyadh Al-Bandak, Salvador Arnet, and Al-Faris Paul, then Salim Sahab, Abdul Karim Qazmuz, Aboud Abdel-Al and Mohammed Ghazi. Kaiser Haddad, Sadiq Omar and George Shahla were known in education. And the first folk dance group founded by the Palestinians Marwan Jarrar and Wadia Haddad Jarrar. The first founders of the choral music ensembles were the Palestinians Alvares Paul and Salvador Arnita, and this is just the tip of the iceberg. www.al-jazirah.com/2013/20131102/rj3.htm

Okay this is from experience, Bangladesh host more than a million of rohingya refugees on their soil because of buddhist atrocities in Myanmar. They look same, they speak the same hilltrack language of Bangladesh but they will never get the citizenship, why? Because its not sustainable. Bangladesh is already an overpopulated country so if it takes a million more the economy will collapse. Also the religion might be same but the culture is absolutely different. So from that pov its understood why Lebanon is doing this. But many western nations and people might not understand the nuances. so thats why I share. There are more examples such as estranged Pakistanis living in Bangladesh or Bangladeshis living in Pakistan since the 1971 war. Western countries and conservatives will always blame Egypt, Lebanon, Iran or gulf countries why they arent taking more Palestine refugees and if they dont they would even vilify those countries but even then they would NOT blame the oppressors, murderers like Israel or Myanmar. It almost seems like there is no justice. This is why apartheid regimes can be so rigid, vile and brutal in oppressing people and displacing them. Truly disgraceful!
