Just a hint when you are planting trees in arid environments: the Groasis Waterboxx. There is plenty of information on youtube on the Waterboxx. There is no need for irrigation when you use the Waterboxx. This invention has been succesfully tested in Marocco. Have a look : www.groasis.com/

We might want to change our view that if "someone" wants to do something for the public good, they must pay someone to do it. Planting trees, grasses, building and designing water retention areas, establishing forests, planting wildflowers, refurbishing ponds and lakes, clearing out dead wood from wildfire areas, etc. can all be done with organizing volunteers on a 365 schedule. Masses of people can get tremendous projects accomplished simply by asking for them. Not enough effort is made to get volunteers together for public land and property renewal. Not everything should be about money.

I see people criticising planting conifers only in an arid climate. The example of Karst region in Slovenia, which gave the name to the karst geological phenomenon in the world, had a similar deserted landscape after the oak forests have been used by the Venetians for pillars when building Venice. After the fall of Venetian republic the first initiatives for reforestation began in the 19th century. BUT the first foresters made a mistake: they tried to plant oaks again, but the soil for them has eroded due to the lack of trees and their root systems, which were naturally keeping the soils in place. The oak saplings died and they planted pines, which are less demanding and did take root in the inhospitable landscape. When the soil was restored the oak and other broad-leaf trees began to return, a process even accelerated by the current climate change, which in that particular area seems to be favoured by oaks, while the formerly thriving pines are now literally dying out. Mind you, this is/was a process of at least 50 years , if not 100 and 150 in some places....
@halnelson59364 ай бұрын
We can do it together, the best is to mix broad-leaf trees and conifers, it's giving them healthy concurrency and dynamic

Have you tried supporting nature (water, protection, less usage...) so it can regenerate itself with native plants and animals instead of planting trees? Maybe you'll have some rare species come back up. A natural ecosystem with many different native plants and animals is healthier and stronger. Wishing you all the best.

One can only grow trees which are natural to it's environment. Maybe in time when the soil has recovered enough one may grow other plants. But this takes a lot of effort and research. Or for feeding humans one can use hydroponic vertical farming. It all depends how a region develops.

Planting trees shrubs and native fawner should be a planet wide heritage plan to create jobs and to educate people that cutting down trees for example without planting more than that are cut down is a only going to destroy our natural environment . All London wants to do is to build concrete towers without any green parts and then in turn blame people for driving cars ,if cities want a green future then vehicles should not be allowed into them unless a person is disabled , working and the need to carry tools ,delivering food ,taxis taking people to various places , Khan the so called Mayor wants to rob people to fund his bankrupt ideas ,well he has bankrupted TFL and now he want to rob working people who are the backbone of our economy and country , if anyone votes this fella then they need their heads tested . So if you are likeminded then lets get rid of him for the good of our country .
