I truly hope Dan realizes we love him greatly and that if he wishes to speak about his brother every day, real fans will understand. Dan has gotten so many people through tough times just by making this show. Being a wonderful distraction through devastating and depressing times. I feel like as a fan, the least I can do is listen to his grief if it is cathartic for him. Love you guys. RIP Lebo

Exactly. The people he keeps apologizing to are not real fans. They just want to troll and say mean things and complain about insignificant nonsense. Dan can do what ever he feels is necessary to help him get thru these times

I think he apologizes because he is used to being a private person & finally expressing his feelings is hard for him. I'm sure he knows the majority of us feel for him & understand totally.

Super well put, 💯 agree. Everyone who watches this show regularly cares deeply, let us share and eat your grief too. We can honor Lebo and our own lost family and friends and remember and cry and feel a little bit more connected to everyone we can’t see after immense pain. It’s better then feeling alone.

“I just want people to know him” You have done a tremendous job of doing that throughout the years Danno. Take pride in knowing you didn’t wait until the end was inevitable to showcase your brothers talent. Dan's openness and vulnerability in his time of loss hit me harder than any other person I can remember who's spoken about death and losing a loved one. I want to thank you Dan, for sharing so much during this difficult time. It is a beautiful tribute to your brother, and I imagine he would be incredibly proud to know his story is being told by you. My condolences to the LeBartard family and the extended show family. You all are so fortunate to have known such a special soul.

Lebo’s art is what kept me visually awed by the show’s unique presentation. It has what kept me way more interested in all the new faces popping up in the background or what little in show references eventually made their way to being visually represented. I’m glad he’s no longer in pain and as a little brother, not something I’ve ever considered either.

Dan, time does not heal all wounds, what it does is help the pain feel less intense less frequently with its passing. As someone who has been mentally preparing to bury my mom some day due to her medical illnesses, it was such a devastating blow last year when I had to bury my brother after he was brutally killed. I pray for strength as you journey through your grief until you reach the place where the laughters out number the tears.

I lost my grandfather a year and a half ago and it still breaks me periodically. He was such an important figure in my life and spared me the lonely existence of a latchkey kid every weekend of my youth…picking me up while my parents worked and my siblings were gone. I slipped into alcoholism for 5 months until he came and found me through ayahuasca. I am so grateful for that opportunity to commune with him…I’m over a year sober and committed to living my live in a way that pays respect to the man I miss so dearly.

The worst day of my life as well, a nightmare....you close your eyes and it won't just end, you keep thinking he would walk through the door, but he won't. So since then dedicated my life to living altruistic....and living every second to the fullest..."what is my potential?" "I am breathing, what can i do today?" Dan, First and foremost I'm sorry for you and your family's loss. Grieve my friend. It's necessary and I am and we are here for you. This is going to be a little long. I want to grieve a little here for myself but also story-tell a bit what you've meant to me. You've been the radio voice of my adult life and I've been lucky enough to bump into you on Lincoln Rd. After years of listening to you on 790 before I tuned in one day and it was a rock song playing whereupon I had to seek you out again, I ran into you on Lincoln Rd. The very first thing you did was introduce your brother before you let the conversation go any further. That speaks volumes to your character. Thank you Sir for your contribution to this time we're here. You mentioned today you want people to get to know Lebo. All they have to do is Google his name or look around the city of Miami and they can get to know a little him. His talent and ability to express through a visual medium is incredible. Each time I now come back to Miami to visit. I still see his artwork everywhere with the little square in the corner with his name and it makes me smile. You in my ear during my 20s influencing me but I also had him on the walls of buildings, on billboards and as backdrop on your program. He influenced me visually just as much as you did audibly. Now concerning grief... My wife and I lost our twins 2 years ago. This episode was difficult to listen to but also each time I cry it helps. You'll never get over it. You'll just learn to deal with it where it doesn't show on the outside as often. You'll still and always will have your days where you sob. I know you're thankful for your time with him and that's what you have to lean on. Because it never goes away. I only knew my babies for 2 weeks but I know when there's two weeks they made me a better father for our future children. Talking about him and keeping his memory alive won't make the pain hurt any less but it will help you stop being in that pain so often. You're going to have memories of him pop up at the most random of times and things will remind you of him at the most random of times and you'll begin to cry. That's just the life you're going to live now. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Going through a grief this traumatic changes you physiologically. You're going to notice it. But you'll get through it. Thank you Lebo for everything and thank you Dan for persevering.

Dan my big brother died almost 5 years ago from cancer. they gave him 6 months at the diagnosis, he was told "to get is affairs in order". The tough mfer lasted a year. He died in my arms with me telling him how much I loved and admired him. He got to die in his own bed too, a luxury I found out most terminal patients don't get. I'm truly sorry for your loss. At some point the pain dulls into what I once heard described as a nostagiac ache. You'll see something you want to tell them about and it'll hit you that they're gone. Gone now, gone tomorrow. Forever fucking gone, and there ain't shit you can do to change it. Just remember that you loved them, and that they loved you right back. Lean into the help your wife is almost certainly offering you. Brother it'll save your soul, the love of a good woman. Let her help you.

I, like I’m sure many others, have made your show when it’s on, a natural part of my day, Dan. The sports, the off topics, the hijinks, the camaraderie of the crew, the laughs. It’s like hanging out and BS-ing with friends. Thank you to you and everyone involved for the entertainment (even though the ship gets tossed around sometimes). And if you need a shoulder to cry on, Dan, it’s OK by me. I’ve figuratively leaned on your ample, pillowy shoulders many times.
