Why does the USA not even have benches for people to wait for the bus?? Did they get
@scouthatesrainbows7 ай бұрын
@@dialectiksyes. Some of the more popular stops have benches, but some of the others just have a sign you gotta stand next to
@christophkogler62207 ай бұрын
@@dialectiks A lot of cities removed benches because: 😱OH NO! 😱the 🤮homeless people😱😱😱😱are sleeping on them😱😱😱instead of the ground where they belong😠 Thats pretty much it. That's the main reason a lot of bus stops no longer have actual benches. It's also the reason a lot of overpasses have had literal spikes put on the ground under them. A lot of places in the USA treat people who can't afford a house (and don't want to go to an overcrowded, underfunded homeless shelter) like they no longer deserve a dry or flat spot to sleep. Taking away the roof and walls isn't enough, I guess.
@nmx00147 ай бұрын
@@dialectiks It's been answered, but I will add that stops with benches (speaking only for the video, because it's my city) are usually entire bus shelters. Rarely do I ever just see a bench at a stop, and if I do, it feels coincidental (as those benches aren't part of the transit agency... and so on, I guess bus stops are complicated). In practice it's fine for most, but there should be more for accessibility reasons. The suburbs are far worse. Not only do they almost never have benches, but suburban buses can run hourly, and I've been told off for sitting on the ground (people don't even know the bus exists) lmfao.

Doctors ask about occupation because sometimes its extremely relevant to a condition you have that you want the doctor to fix. If you work with harsh cleaning chemicals a lot and you have a strange rash on your arms, the doctor knowing you work with those chemicals could tip them off onto why you have these rashes. If your just in for the flu or a stubbed toe or something, yea they dont need to know. But if youre in for some kind of "I dont know why this is happening" ailment make sure you fill out the form.

Or maybe you'd be interested to know that the lady with the seizures in your 20th century hospital works with organic mercury. Profession is an AWFUL way to find out that information. Doctors don't know every profession in the world, relying on every Doctor to memorize other professions as well as their own is crazy. Doctors shouldn't be out here playing Sherlock, they should be asking the actual question they're trying to get to. Such as: Doctor: "Do you use any chemicals regularly? Cleaning products, face washes, etc."

Love NL but it’s funny he thinks that question is like to sell data. They ask the occupation question in part for insurance/workers comp or third party liability stuff, but mostly so providers can rule out or account for occupational safety hazards and diagnose and treat accordingly. If they see you’re an office worker with back pain they might ask you about like if you sit in a chair all day and give you recommendations to try a different/better chair or try standing up more before other means of treatment. Versus if you’re a construction worker who comes in with wheezing and coughing up blood they might ask you questions related to your jobs or do different tests to see if maybe you came in contact with or regularly work with something toxic that could be causing it first. Not to be a dweeb about it though, I just had to end up explaining this to patients myself when they get annoyed they were being asked about it and accused us if having nefarious intentions
