They unabashedly contradict themselves on this and many other of their arguments. The funny thing about when they say basketball is a team sport is they judge teams by their best 2 or 3 players, so it doesn't really mean anything when they say that. They are fully aware of how much one player can mean to the success or failure of a team too, so using this argument is just a way for them to avoid giving players their props.

On top of that they are the first ones to openly just admit they don’t respect anyone that came before them. I was born in 1980 so I’d be sitting here lying to you if I told you I understood how great magic and Larry were but by the time I started watching Sports with my dad when I was 10 in the early 90s I did understand that those guys were legends. The older I got the more I got to appreciate players like them and Dr. J and Jerry West.. I’ve actually heard some people try to use the argument that “well, Michael Jordan was the goat then we’re talking about today” so with that logic that they’re making it’s OK for them to just throw LeBron’s career away 20 years from now when there’s someone else playing?

@@DanTarrant1 but LeBron fans don’t seem to take everything into consideration they take the parts that make LeBron look good into consideration and leave everything else out. LeBron lost in the playoffs nine years straight and you guys act like somehow that’s better than Michael losing in the playoff for seven years straight. When you take everything into consideration, you have to take into consideration the tournament as a whole I agree, but then when it’s time to look at the competition, LeBron faced through the entire tournament, not just the finals you guys don’t want to do that anymore. LeBron’s time in the east West filled with terrible teams. There were even years that you had teams with losing record in the eastern conference tournament. And really before it started being shoved down everyone’s throat that LeBron is the goat. A lot of us weren’t judging LeBron that harshly. I remember back in 2010 thinking that LeBron might’ve had a legitimate chance to be the goat, Michael, the goat because we just love Michael that much. Kobe Bryant is my favorite player and I really wanted him to end up better and more successful than Michael but that didn’t happen but as an adult I didn’t start crying and start lying about Michael. I just accepted things for how they were. Whatever great has done with exceptions is usually you come into the league if you drafted high you’re not going to go to a good team it takes a couple years to build a team around you then you get playoff experience then you figure out how to win in the playoffs. LeBron never did that. Once Michael figured out what he needed to do as a leader, and a player he became unstoppable. LeBron just kept having to stack the deck and hope it would work out and then his team does a hit job on everyone from Dwyane Wade to Kyrie to try to make them look less than what they were because if you start talking about them like they’re a top 75 player in one of the best of their generation it takes away from the way you guys want LeBron to be looked at.

This is a bad argument tbh. Implying that they’re equally good just because of their similar numbers is such a simplistic way to compare players. Do you really think that Barkley, Jhonson and Majerle are as good as Curry, Klay and Draymond? 3 of them showed to be able to be the core of a dynasty, the other 3 never even came close to that.
@Minamino_Shuichi2 ай бұрын
@@Robss_ Probably because they ran into THE dynasty. The argument that they are weak is nonsensical, Jordan's team was just too strong at that time. He is the centerpiece of the best Dynasty in basketball, that is worth more than trying to beat a dynasty. For Goat debates you are measuring winning basketball, not "who had it harder" basketball. Jordan is the reason why the greatest players of all time didn't win in the 90s. Lebron gave Dirk a ring, he was not even a factor in 2019, and the Spurs with TD took 2 from him. MJs loses within the 90s came from playing baseball, if MJ didn't retire, we would not be looking at Olajuwon in the same manner. That is what MJ is. The fact that you're saying Barkley's suns is worse than No Durant GSW is because of the Jordan effect.

In 92-93, the Bulls coasted that season because they were coming off 2 championship runs, and MJ and Scottie also played in the 1992 Summer Olympics so that contributed to the fatigue that they faced. In 93-94 when MJ retired, the Bulls signed a lot of the key players they would contribute on the second 3 peat team, and they still had the key players from the first 3 peat team, so Scottie played with a combination of the best players on both 3 peat teams in 93-94 minus MJ and Dennis Rodman, and if MJ played, that probably would’ve been their best team because that would’ve been their deepest roster.
@jamridd142 ай бұрын
There’s plenty of teams that was successful after an all time great player left or retired. So using MJs retirement in 1993 is pointless. There’s a reason why teams run systems and why the draft is so important. The system gives players roles and responsibilities based on physical attributes and skill sets, and coaches and GMs find guys that fit their system through the draft and free agency. LeBron’s teams don’t do that because they don’t run a real system, and they can’t build through the draft because he has no patience, and since free agents don’t want to willingly play with him, his teams have to trade future draft picks away for veteran players, then those players get paid along with LeBron so when he leaves, the team is in salary cap hell, and they can’t rebuild through the draft and that’s why the organization falls apart when he leaves. In Kareems last year with the Bucks, they won 38 games. In the following year, they won 38 games without him. In Kareem’s last season with the Lakers, they won 57 games, and the following season, they improved to 63 wins without him. In Magic Johnsons lasts year with the Lakers, they won 58 games. The following year, they won 43 games but they still made the playoffs without him and lost to the Trailblazers. In Larry Birds last season with the Celtics, they won 51 games. The following year, they won 48 games and still made the playoffs without him. And the Celtics would’ve been good in the 90s, but they unfortunately lost Reggie Lewis and Len Bias. And in Tim Duncans last year with the Spurs, they won 67 games. In the following season, they won 61 games without him. Those are some examples of teams still being successful after their all time great player left or retired. Its an indictment on LeBron that his teams fall apart when he leaves or isn’t on the court.

Jordan was 33 & 34 when he played the Jazz in the Finals. The Bulls was also old. And everyone that MJ beat in the Finals, they were around the same age as the Bulls. The Sonic were a younger team. With MJ, you can’t say that he beat a team that was precocious and got there too soon or was mentally fragile like you can say with LeBron when he played OKC in the Finals, or was beating on teams like the Raptors that was lead by a mentally fragile DeMar DeRozen and Kyle Lowry and a young Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown lead Celtics team.

LBJ Stans lack b-ball IQ, & it shows by just stating things that either aren’t true or simply lacks zero context.

They lack iq in general. Never understood playing longer while having less accolades is a good thing. Still don’t understand LeBron jumping around playing avengers with other team’s stars is better than developing your help to win. Sad part is he been doing all that and only could scrap up 4 rings

@@suntansuperman26 It's about being competitive. MJ thrives on competition. He had great success with one team. He wanted to beat the best.

Didn't even talk about the teams he had to play just to get to the finals. Do that one 😆

I love how LeBron gets to stack a team to win, but the moment he loses to a "stacked" team LeBron fans argue as if the league had to conspire together in order to stop him. Lol

Talking about MJs competition or him losing to the all time Celtics and Pistons when LeBron didnt win anything until year 9, choking the whole way and it took an all time superteam to go 2-2 and it took an all time shot by Ray Allen to not go 1-3. He scored 8 points and made Jason Terry like like MJ in a vitak Finals game. In his prime. Name another great that did that in a Finals in their prime. Bragged about 8 championships then had the gall to say that he was over performing to even get to the Finals and that he needed more help and basically implied he was carrying the Heat.

And exactly what era did LeBron dominate? We never had a Kobe LeBron rivalry despite the league doing everything to try and make one because LeBron never showed up big against Kobe in regular season games and couldn't get to the Finals, couldn't even beat the Magic. He didn't do well against Steph at all. The Lakers years... Well he's lucky to have the bubble "championship." Hasn't done much otherwise. THAT team not good enough? Hes got a top 75 player. Just like MJ did in Pippen. First it was the 60s was a plumbers era. Then the 70s. Then the 80s. Now the 90s. Pretty soon players from the 2000s making 100 million are going to be called "plumbers."
