Exactly. Jordan was going against big athletic 7ft Centers guarding the rim (Shaq, Ewing, Robinson, Olajuwan, Mourning, and so many more, and that's not including the big Power Forwards that were around). So he had to actually have skill. He could actually shoot a mid-range shot and could navigate like a magician around the rim. Kobe was similar. Lebron benefited from an era where everyone was a skinny finesse player so he could bulldoze his way to the rim without any resistance. Not too hard to be dominant. If Lebron was forced to actually shoot midrange shots and couldn't waltz into the lane, we wouldn't be talking about him the way we are now.

It's not LeBron James to blame (alone). David Stern was desperate to have someone as the face of the League. It was supposed to be Kobe, but the rape accusation happened and LeBron was in his second year, so the league threw everything behind LeBron. The reason why Jordan is greater is old school legends from the 60's and 70's kept watching the NBA during Jordan's career because it elevated the game. Finally someone speaking the truth on LBJ legacy. Definitely one of the most talented players in NBA History but his success has always been overrated and manufactured. I truly believe that LBJ has stayed in Cleveland the first time not only would had won a title but he could had won multiple of titles. But he chose an easier route and it took that "IT FACTOR" away from his game...like you saw with MJ, Magic, Bird, Kobe, IT, Tim Duncan...

@Felix2389 there wasn't no big free agent being signed anywhere at that time so what are you talking about?? LBJ started that when he went to Miami and bosh...get you head out of the game today and remember how it was then...that's why I said factors like GM, and who the team was building around him...rather it's one or two players. And 55 to 65 wins is still good so what are you talking about? He was creating a foundation there but didn't have the patience...MJ went through it himself...Kobe had a short stint after Shaq left with it too...he never learned how to develop a championship culture because he chose to bolt to the Heat...MJ ,Tim, Magic, Bird, Kobe all did that with their respective teams...he just gave him self an advantage and that's why I can't call him the Goat because he manufactured his championships...

@Felix2389 um and MJ played 7 seasons before winning his first title...Scottie was there for two year before they won a title ( his 3rd year) they didn't sign any major FA...again stop thinking the game was the same back then like it is now. You didn't have to sign for a major FA then. The only three teams that did that before LBJ went to the Heat ( or in trade) was the Rockets, Lakers and Boston and all won a title but it was short term success. Building and winning culture and pushing the players around you and the team signing key ROLE players is how you have long-term success. He didn't have the patience to take that next step. Mo Williams was a good player but they needed one more player as a scorer to help out..someone who could avg 18 to 20 pts a game..I don't know if it would had worked but the one player that they did have and lost to Utah was Carlos Boozer because he would had been that second scorer to LBJ...I always maintained that...if the Cavs was able to hold onto him they would had been a threat.

@@jahintoodeep2321 he brought this along, when Magic, MJ, Kobe and even Tim Duncan were in the league they had a DNA a mentality to play extremely hard on both ends which heightened the competitive level of all the other players, refs and coaches. Gregg Popavich (around 11-13) sat his aging players to ensure they’d be healthy for the playoffs. LBJ adopted this mentality to cheat the game and elongate his career…the nba followed. LBJ continued to beg for calls and the NBA followed. LBJ started the free agency carousel..making the game about checks and money instead of the passion and love for the game. He’s the “leader”, doesn’t matter what the nba did. He chose to do the other things which lead to where the nba is now. That was his choice as a man LBJ is one of the greats but around 12-15 on my list because of his mentality. He created a formula instead of staying true to the games principles. The main reason for the NBA low ratings are piracy and unavailability. I was trying to find the Lakers game the other night, there was 10 channels on KZbin illegally broadcasting with thousands on the live streams. The NBA packages are so high, they blackout games, and they don’t offer free games like the NFL on a regular cable package. When the NBA starts catering to the middle class again, the rating will improve. Also move the 3 point line back 3 feet, you will see more fundamental basketball played, because the 3 pointer will be a low percentage shot.
