Why not, he's a future hall-of-famer? It didn't work out, hindsight is 20-20, lots of blame to put on Embiid - but the thought behind it made sense then! Give Embiid a Jack-of-all-trades 2nd option and fill it up with solid shooters. What should they have done? I bet two years ago Embiid was pulling strings behind the curtain to get a viable second option and try to make the team ready in 2 years time or else he would leave, which made it impossible for the organisation to rebuild around him for fear of loosing him before the rebuild was complete. Hence - Paul George and a tank year. Why George gets most of the blame ( well, his podcasts do nothing to help him out here ) is questionable, only one guy consistently bosses you around, then lets you down, and he deserves the blame more so than anyone else I reckon.

I think it is the reigning western conference champs. the reason? they have a player that averaged 34, 10 and 9 last season(something Jordan never managed in his career), and the greatest ball handler in kyrie who is one of the most efficient players of all time. when you cap that off with other hall of famers and champions like Klay thompson, and their incredible duo of bigs that play great defense and run the floor well(not to mention the pj washingtons and naji marshals of the world) its not wonder that they are the reigning champions. it seems clear that they will do it again and they make a good bet because CLEARLY the media is rooting agains them. so hopefully their strategy of managing the rest of their players during the season pays off. just do yourself a favor and do not fall for the hype about OKC. they are def Elite, but they need more size. the players are simply 2 small when the game slows down. no team like this has ever won a title in history and that is for a reason. I mean Jordan would be the tallest guy on the okc roster if it was not for their 2 centers and I think j williams and that is not acceptable to have a bunch of shorties on the court to really play winning basketball.
