I was born and brought up in England and basketball really isn’t a thing here. Yet I still know of the name “Kobe Bryant” and for some reason I am so emotional about Kobe’s passing. Every time I watch someone speak of him fondly, and even watching this, I find myself trying to hold back the tears. It’s crazy what an impact this man has had. Philly native here. This was hands down one of the hardest days I’ve ever had to experience. Kobe was a Philly product like me, and everyone in philly knows or lower merion, where he played high school basketball. He made everyone here proud and was a huge influence on young ballers here. When news came out about what happened, it felt like the whole city just stopped moving. Absolutely devastating day for us. Hope you and Gigi are shooting some hoops up there, Kobe 🖤
