I don't think he's sad at all. In fact, I'd say the LBJ's achievement actually gave him sort of relief that he witnessed his own record to be broken. Had this record had been broken few years after KAJ retired - maybe he would have felt different. But at his age, he does not think of holding records anymore; I bet not many things can surprise a man in his age. Well, he juest experienced something many would have never pictured.

Ppl on purposely not mentioning the competitors of MJ. In that era, even Dennis Johnson, Danny Ainge, Mark Price were all-stars. Comparing to LeBron, averagely Jordan played against players who had less athleticism, less size, less strength, in his era only a few can shoot 3s, big man couldn’t run the floor, no one doing handles like shammgod, no eurosteps, no zone defense. They played hustle , but were 20~40-lbs lighter than today. When Jordan left bulls they went from 57 wins to 55 and Bulls almost entered 3rd round. And Kobe said hand check is nothing big comparing to zone defense. LeBron played in a way better era. LeBron is the GOAT.

IMO, I think Lebron should have approached Kareem after that fade away shot to claim the highest scoring title of all time due to respect to Mr. Kareem. That handshake with Kareem was by force because of the cameras and fans in the attendance. Not taking anything away from LeBron at all.
