I like how highly Lebron spoke of Rondo. I’ve always thought of Rondo as being one of the smartest and fearless players in the league. He was an enormous part in the success the Celtics had basically from ‘07-‘11. Dude definitely shined in a lot of big moments in the playoffs, even recently with the pelicans. I can’t wait to see how him and Lebron play together. Lebron will definitely elevate not only Rondo’s game, but the whole lakers team. I feel like this ball club has the potential to be special over the next 2-3 years, maybe even longer.

Rondo’s game can’t get any better than it is already. Playing with LBJ won’t elevate his game IMO. He’s still gonna be the guy who can dish it but can’t shoot as well as other PG’s.

eazyduzit5150 I definitely believe that this team is prob an all-star or two away from being able to beat the warriors in 7 games. But I don’t think it’ll be a throw away season by any means. Rondo’s shot isn’t great but it’s not bad enough to where you can forget about him out there. He shot 42% (8/19) from three these past playoffs. I know its a small sample size but he doesn’t really need to be a shooter on this team anyway.I just feel there’s a lot of great pieces on this team. From young guys with lots of potential to older savy veterans who can score and be leaders in the locker room. And with Lebron leading them I feel like they could be a great team. Far from winning a championship but they’ll be competitive.

ElProfessor _ Reason why I said it’s a throw away season is bc 5 of those players are on 1 yr deals, including Rondo. I don’t think he’s in their future plans along with some of the other guys like Beasley/Lance/McGee etc it’s just them playing the waiting game until free agency or via trade where they can get another huge all star or a couple of legit all stars who can be good second/third option pieces to LBJ. If nothing happens and they have this exact roster by seasons end I think they can get 45-50 wins but that’s it. As for Rondo, at this point of his career he can’t get much better than what he is. Especially playing with ball dominant guys like LBJ, Ball and Lance, more so LBJ. When he’s out there he’ll most likely be more of a spot up shooter or handling the ball of course. He’ll still have his assist numbers but I don’t see his fg% going up on threes or his ppg going up.

I just feel like 2 great basketball minds such as Lebron and Rondo playing next to each other could potentially be great. Similar to how Rondo/Davis with each other this past season, and what’s scary is as great as Davis is, lebron is still better. I definitely agree that they’ll hover around the 50 win mark if this team doesn’t change throughout the season. Regardless they’ll make the playoffs and be really competitive I’m sure.

Tim Smith It’s a dumb weak argument LBJ stans try to use against MJ, it was his playoff record before Pippen. But...what they don’t tell you or know is that MJ was facing legit contenders/champs with a weak squad. When they got a little bit better they had a decent record so they faced a lower seed in 88. MJ advanced to the second rd averaging 45 ppg while Pippen averaged just 10 ppg on limited minutes bc he was a rookie on the bench. When MJ got through the 1st rd it just so happened to be Pippen’s rookie yr, but they act like it was him who was the reason they advanced. They don’t mention the next series where they lost vs Detroit with again Pippen playing poorly and MJ having zero help. This is the only thing LBJ fans think they have over MJ but are sadly mistaken.
