It was about the force and power he had doing what was really run of the mill dunks, and obviously the hang time Bron got. That's what wowed everyone at the time including myself. Man I remember the airing of this dunk contest and the McDonalds All-American game. This was during the latter half of my Freshmen year of High-School. This was the style from about 2001-2003 as far what a lot of the youngsters are rocking. I had my throwbacks with the wrist bands and headband with my braids during these years. LeBron really had all the hype for about a 2 year stretch before this dunk contest. LeBron was on the cover of ESPN's magazine going into his Junior year of High School which was back in the fall of 2001. That was bananas at the time.
