Don't forget the du rags and wave caps with the fitted hats. Bruh, them boys had swagger back then. These new dudes today you'll see a bunch of skinny jeans with a bunch of holes in them with some lame, ear-bleeding Trap "Music" song playing in the background. This generation today has no swagger whatsoever. The early 2000's was a very special period.

The interesting thing about Bron's performance in this particular dunk contest was that stylistically he didn't do anything spectacular. It was about the force and power he had doing what was really run of the mill dunks, and obviously the hang time Bron got. That's what wowed everyone at the time including myself. Bron is just a different dude.

Man I remember the airing of this dunk contest and the McDonalds All-American game. This was during the latter half of my Freshmen year of High-School. This was the style from about 2001-2003 as far what a lot of the youngsters are rocking. I had my throwbacks with the wrist bands and headband with my braids during these years. LeBron really had all the hype for about a 2 year stretch before this dunk contest. LeBron was on the cover of ESPN's magazine going into his Junior year of High School which was back in the fall of 2001. That was bananas at the time.

Interesting to see Boozer as one of the judges because they end up being teammates a few months later in Cleveland. One of the biggest mistakes of Cleveland was letting Boozer sign with Utah. They might have won a championship with Boozer and Lebron in Cleveland. Possibly if they added another star even a dynasty.
