As an old guy, I have seen nearly all of these dunk contests in the years that they were done. I have to say the 1988 Jordan vs Domonique was the most entertaining as it went back and forth and you really didn't know who was going to win. The Vince Carter dunks were the most exciting as the dunk contest was getting boring/routine in the previous years and he re-vitalized it with original dunks. As for the "best" and coolest dunks, I actually think they were done by Aaron Gordon, still cant believe he never won!?!
@zlinedavid Жыл бұрын
I've seen most of them...can't quite remember back to '84, but I was alive....and agree, those were the three standout years: 1988, 2000 and 2016. '88 was a slugfest between Dominique and Jordan. 4 50s out of 6 dunks in the finals. 2000, Vinsanity was on another planet, but TMac and Francis put on a hell of a show also. And 2016's battle between LaVine and Gordon was as good as '88.

Oh, and short people (spud) suck in dunk contests, if they can only jump high enough to reach the rim. Reaching the rim is no great feat, it's the creativity, and the freedom in the air that is truly awesome. Short people are lacking where it counts. Whenever someone short gets a 50, it feels like a reward for making history, for example, someone short finally reached that rim, it's not because they necessarily earned it.
