KG did an excellent job explaining how the culture of the NBA back then respected, honored and loved the allstar game. It was a treasured experience for these players. Somewhere in the 2010s it lost that. In golf, going to the Masters is an experience like that. If you are a winner, you get to go to the dinner and wear your green jacket. It's a part of tradition. If people are not there to pass down the tradition, or explain why its great, the next generation won't understand it and the mystique goes away.

Thank yall both for yall outlook as Men in their 40s who’ve been through it. Yall made a point Ive felt internally for a while .. and thats the fact that Social Media has made it to where everyone/everything is TOO accessible. There is no more discretion and mystique , therefore we’ve been trained to not be patient/excited for whats to come.. People have Social Media teams who post things before they even hit the floor for games .. I see Boxers having their teams make posts before they even hit the ring.. why be excited about whats about to happen when everyone is trained to look at every single step .. Its deep and Im so grateful to be 34 and have had a childhood/teenage-hood / early adulthood before phones were so ubiquitous.. I be having to keep myself tuned into the fact that REAL LIFE is in me and whats right outside of me with my own eyes.. Real life is not on a phone ..

Question- which series loss hurt more 2010 7 games vs LA or 2012 7 games vs Heat. Both series up 3-2 and real chances to win the chip
@RobberStormfire11 ай бұрын
For me as a Celtics fan, they both were excruciating. With a little luck and if KG doesn't get injured in 2009, we were right there 5 seasons in a row we could have gotten one. For me though, it's 2010 because that Game 7 was so winnable. Perk got hurt, and he was a defensive force, but in the end, we could not score that game. The two series against the Heat in 2011 and 2012, Bron had all his superpowers and he would not be denied. He was such a beast in those closeout games, that one where he had like 47 and just dominated
@TheIndianCelticsShow11 ай бұрын
@@RobberStormfire I feel you. 2010 game 7 was so winnable. We were up 13 in the second half and just ran out of gas. It hurts a lot cuz Rondo my fav player he would have won finals mvp that year. Whole different legacy then. 2012 hurts a lot too because that game 5 win is my favourite Celtics game of all time. That Paul pierce clutch shot, 36 yo KG giving everything, Rondo making winning plays. Losing the series after that left me heartbroken.

I think we have to look at what happened early in the season: We had the In-Season Tournament & every team was competitive trying to win it which gave us a lot of good basketball. To fix the All Star Game, it’s simple… It’s back to East vs West.. Winner of the Game should get Home Court Advantage in the Finals. Once you give these players something to play for, they’ll play for it. If the NBA wants the game to be more competitive, you gotta force it
