At 46:50 Paul mentions a play that was written for a lob for KG and felt that because he was standing in the corner he was "not involved". My man, with this team, plays like that work because great/clutch shooters like you are always a threat. You might be standing on that corner, but the defense it absolutely paying attention to you, and that helps the play develop.

It's about time yall had Doc Rivers on fellas. Doc Rivers played on the High School basketball team with my cousin and Doc graduated High School with my Brother. Me and about 50 kids met Doc at Proviso East in late june/early July 1990. My coach was a grade school teacher of Doc's. My coach looked around and said where is all my players? Somebody said they are in Memorial Hall playing basketball with Doc Rivers. My coach said forget Doc Rivers, he already has his, you guys have to get yours. Let's go! So 15-30 minutes later Doc comes walking into the Field House floor and my coach yells get Doc, "GET OUT OF HERE, GET OUT OF HERE" (Because Doc was distracting all of his players) Doc started laughing. So Doc says come on guys, I will give you a pep talk: "All of you come to one side because I can't see all of you if you are behind me. I wasn't the best on the team when I played here. I had a teammate named Ricky Wilson. He was the best basketball player I ever saw. He was better than me. He was better than Mark Aguirre, he was better than Isiah Thomas. Everyday afyer school me and Rickey would go to the park (10th Park) and practice. Games, one on ones, etc. Ricky didn't take advantage of his talent. Everybody (colleges) wanted Doc Rivers to play for them. Get your education guys because when you hear Moses Malone talk, it's sad. So get your education.....I don't think Jordan is the best, I still think Magic is the best. Michael doesn't have any championships. Magic has 5." 8 months later we won the Illinios High School State Basketball Champion led by 3 future NBA Playera, Michael Finley, Sherrell Ford and Donnie Boyce. And after we lost 3 players to the NBA we went Undefeated and won another championship. Meeting Doc Rivers was like Superman because at that time only Doc and his Uncle Jim Brewer had made it to the NBA from the neighborhood. So I always knew his name, I didn't know what he looked like until 87 and I finally met him in 1990. But know we've sent more players to the NBA than all the schools in the nation except for about 8 or 9 schools. So guys like Doc, Jim Brewer and my schoolmate Michael Finley set a great example for us.

Crazy how Doc is getting alot of hate but I can see now how great of a coach he is and why he is still on demand in the coaching market! Winning a championship involves a lot of factor, but something you can always assure is having a winning culture!
