Sir you are giving the best content I have ever seen in sociology optional sir I have one request to you, sir can you please provide notes I know you have already talked about it and as per you have mentioned I'm making running notes also but there is lot of difficulty in making running notes . As it is goes in general flow and lacking some sociological terms. And during revision I found it quite difficult. Cause I'm lacking the main essence of the topic. Please consider the doubt sir if you provide note it will be more easier to revise in systematic manner and this will also reduce our time through which we can focus on GS also.....

Phenomenol world is constructed by Man through Sensory(sense/empirical/observe) perception of the external world Noumenal world is what we can't observe or sense or perceive... It's the world of metaphysical ideas (centred around consciousness, soul, self etc).

@@kaarwan-e-upsc Sir, does noumenal world also consist of world of matter? because they exist independent of our perception. This doubt is in link with Lec 34 (31:51), while explaining Hegel, you said that Kant called the external world(thing-in itself) as noumenal world.

sir is non positivism and post positivism same i am struggling with the topic of post positivism no where mentioned in syllabus and book but asked in 2017 mains

Non-Positivism is an umbrella term for all methodologies which rejects the postulates of Positivism..... Post-Positivism is a sub-set of this broad umbrella.... I have talked about it when I was talking about critic of Scientific Method like Karl Popper and Thomas Kuhn..... Don't worry, I will deal with it when I will cover the Chapter of Research Methodologies!!! But if you take a more comprehensive and liberal view of post-Positivism and not the technical view which I have briefly pointed out in the above mentioned paragraph, then I will advise you to consider post-Positivism as equivalent to non-Positivism and incorporate all the non-positivistic approaches (verstehen, hermeneutics, Interactionists and phenomenologists, critical theory and post-Modernists) in your answer, that would be more comprehensive and more marks fetching!!!!
