the x-intercepts should be three, 1,-1 and 3. but in the graph its different so maybe the question does not contain (x-1) squared but only (x-1)(x+3) but if thats so, then the y-intercept will be -3.

No it's not sharp it is looking like a sharp tip but exactly it is similar as vertex of the parabola....
