What about the Kc. What happens to it when rasing then lowering temperature?
@OldSchoolChemistry Жыл бұрын
Hi Salmamohammed, When you change the temperature the value of Kc changes. In contrast when you change concentration or pressure/volume, the value of Kc remains the same. You can still predict which way the reaction will shift when temperature is changed, but calculating the new Kc value is beyond the scope of this class. I hope your class goes well!

i have a question beside the video when we increase the temperature in endothermic reaction the Kaq increases !! how so ?since the endothermic has the heat in the reactants side and in the Keq equation the reactants is in the denominator so it should decreases ?! i hope that you answer me . thank you very much ma'am
@OldSchoolChemistry2 жыл бұрын
Hi Osamah, When you increase the temperature in an endothermic reaction the reaction shifts forward making more products and consuming reactants. Keq = Products/Reactants, more products means a higher Keq. Remember when you change temperature you actually change the Keq value. When you change pressure or concentration the value of Keq does not change. I hope that helps! Thanks:)

in endothermic reaction, the system becomes cold or hot?
@OldSchoolChemistry4 ай бұрын
Great question. The surrounding gets cold. Say a salt is dissolved in water and the temperature of the solution decreases. That is an endothermic dissolution. It required more energy to dissociate the ions than the energy released when the water molecules surrounded the ions. Evidence of this fact is the solution temperature decreased. Energy went from the solution into the reaction (endothermic reaction). I hope that helps. Thanks!
