Awesome video! What do you suggest doing if the heddles don't move freely? Mine act sticky and refuse to slide nicely

great tip for dropping the back of the loom to the floor!!! - any idea if this technique would work if one has the back hinged treadle option?...I have not personally seen how those are attached to the loom as a whole, so I don't know if they would allow you to drop the back like this.

It should….although not as cleanly. need to pull the pins on treadle tie ups so as not to stress lamms. need to unlatch stabilizer brace and fold up treadle beam. hopefully find an perfect stool whose legs fit nicely between treadles. if you have sectional beam it may prop whole back assembly off floor. you’ll need to be very careful getting up and down so as not to harm the looom.

Thank you for all your tips. I was wondering how you go about, after all your ends are heddled, in rolling your ends on the back beam. Is in it difficult, are your threads tangling?

Nope. They are managed by lease sticks and reed in front of the loom so as you wind on they are in perfect alignment order per your heddle threading accuracy.

I have question if you dont mind. I am planning to weave a cloth with a thousand threads. Can a 8 shaft jack loom handle it or would the treadles be too heavy to lift? Thank you in advance

This is not really a “can the loom handle it” question. I currently have a student with 1460 threads (20/2 cotton sett at 36 epi 34” wide in the reed) on a 4 shaft artisat. If those 1,000 threads are crammed or too tight of a tension, it can be hard to get a good shed on any loom.
