Man you got to love his work, how anyone can say Lecrae has strayed from God is beyond me but those people really need Jesus.
@lorenzo78425 жыл бұрын
You can blame religion for that. People seem to have their own ideas on what they think a Christian should do and how they should act and when that doesn't line up with their "beliefs" they condemn you. Nevermind the fact that your relationship with God and bringing souls to christ is more important. That's all Lecrae has ever done. It's just he chose to reach people that so called Christians seem to forget about

Fat Samurai, you are correct, no one should instantly doubt that Lecrae is a believer in Christ. There are many that jump to conclusions because they see some of the things he says and does on social media. And while that is not fair to Lecrae, we want to also be fair to some of the people that have legit concerns about some of the things he has said in interviews, etc. over the past few years. They fall into two categories 1) Lecrae has made some indictments against the churches in general that may have some real implications, but again it generalizes. He spoke as if believers in the church are legalistic or weren't doing enough in the communities. This was a bit unfair to say in public interviews with unbelievers (who don't understand spiritual things according to 1 Corinthians 2:14). There seemed to be this underlying thought that Christian action should be separate from sound doctrine (which flies in the face of Ephesians 4:11-16). Lecrae might not have meant it that way, but it came across that way. Listen to him rightly tell someone in this video to find a good church when he gets out. This is sound, loving advice, but you can't at the same time bash churches because they're not doing what you're doing. 2) Lecrae's love for the lost is great, but sometimes it translates (in public interviews anyway) into him not always proclaiming the gospel when he as a chance (Romans 1:16) or promoting himself. There is this philosophy that being "real" means we don't act "churchy." Yet sometimes being "real"we can subtly float into worldliness, which 1 John 2:15-17 and James 4:4 warns against. Now please don't read this and think I'm saying Lecrae is worldly, but there were times he presented himself this way in the way he conducted himself in interviews. This is the reason there were other rap artists that reached out to him (as far as I know) to address it because they didn't want him to be tempted by the ways of the world. That is a legit concern for believers because this is a spiritual battle (Ephesians 6:10-18). I've preached at a homeless shelter in my city many times; I can be relate-able and real in my love, but I also have an open Bible (or verses I quote) that connect their real world actions with the truth of scripture. I'm not saying Lecrae doesn't do this, but again, just based on social media, he shows love that could be from even a lost person. Our godly love is much more powerful, and more so because we have the Word of God, which is powerful and sharp (Hebrews 4:12). There are other concerns as well, but I will end with this: Quick judgment against Lecrae is not right. But Biblical judgment based on things he may have said or done is fine because it isn't meant to bash, but to exhort and encourage. Yet when Lecrae's fans hear this, they automatically think people are being pharisees. No, they have a concern about a Christian man who is in the spotlight, and the spotlight can be dangerous. We are God's workmanship (Ephesians 2:10) and faith without works is dead (James 2:18-26), but our works should never be separate from our theology. Theology isn't the enemy of a Christians' works, but the driving foundation of it. We are sanctified by the truth of the Word (John 17:17), therefore our words about Christ, God, the church, the lost, etc. can't be unbiblical while we are serving Christ. There were times Lecrae said and did some things that didn't line up with scripture completely and other believers were rightly concerned. Be careful not to lump every critic in the same camp: that they all think Lecrae is not a real believer. Some believers pray that he isn't tempted and that he represents Christ well. Shai Linne addressed some of these problems in his song Random Thoughts 3 and many thought he was bashing, but if they listened carefully, he had concerns. Thanks for reading and may we all as Christians serve the Lord with gladness.
@2timothy235 жыл бұрын
@@lorenzo7842 I understand your defense against Lecrae, but that is a general statement you shouldn't make. There are Christians all over the country that minister to the lost in the same areas as Lecrae. And if another Christians is concerned about Lecrae based on something he said that doesn't line up with scripture; that is legit. The Bible is God-breathed and sufficient for all believers (2 Timothy 3:16-17), Christians are to study it rightly (2 Timothy 2:15) and check it to make sure what someone is saying or doing is correct (Acts 17:11). Not everyone in the church doubts Lecrae's faith or love for the lost, but they can rightly judge (by the Word of God) if he says or does something that doesn't line up with the Word out of concern. Our good works as Christians can't be separate from our theology. That seems to be the "new" way of thinking and it is not correct.

Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’ “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ Matthew 25:34-40 NKJV bible.com/bible/114/mat.25.34-40.NKJV

Thank you, Lecrae for your heart for the prisoner. My late husband served over 14 years in and out of prison before I met him, and then he gave his life to Jesus Christ and became a minister to share the Good News to those who are lost. He loved unconditionally, and after what he had experienced and lived through, he was able to reach people that others could not. It has been 2 years since he went home to be with the Lord, and I know he heard "Well done my good and faithful servant." May God bless you abundantly, cover you in His protection and provision, increase your discernment and strength in the Lord, and cover you completely with His host of Heavenly Warrior and Ministering Angels. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
