The reason Lecrae is so respected is because he's a Christian man who has a message, but he doesn't push Christianity on anyone. He spreads his beliefs through his actions and his songs, and doesn't judge people for what they believe. I feel like if more Christians were tolerant and humble like him, they wouldn't get such a bad reputation.
@iamhughey109 жыл бұрын
What would you say about John the baptists message then? Jesus called him the greatest prophet born of a woman, Yet the man called people "snakes." The world is shaping Christianity instead of Christianity shaping the world.. Our message has gotten soft.. So now the world is taking over! And the church is acting just like them! What would the apostles say if they saw the condition of the church today? Yes I understand what you are saying.. But for most people, "love" is without truth.. And that's not the real Jesus! Jesus loved the woman at the well, but still told her how many times she committed adultery.. Did he love her? Of course! But would it have been love if He had not of told her her sin? That's the real question..
@CatalystRaps9 жыл бұрын
iamhughey10 John the Baptists' message was the same as LeCrae's. One of repentance and love. I never said it's not important to say the truth or spread the gospel, but Christ didn't come to the world to condemn it, he came to love and save it. There's a way to tell people of their sin and show them love without condemning them, and condemnation is not the most important job of christianity.
@bethel43489 жыл бұрын
Catalyst You're right! The reason many people turn away from christianity is not because of a problem they have with god or jesus but because of the attitudes of christians.. and that's really sad.

see this is my beef with alot of Christians on here and this is why i think alot of people dont take us seriously. we are never united as a movement or a message. whenever there is a christian doing something there are always other Christians claiming there are not about God or not a true representation of a godly person. look i applaud lacrae for what he is doing and trying to do because it is positive and i believe he is doing his best to represent God as best he can. is anyone perfect? of course not but lets stop bashing our brothers and sisters trying to spread the word how they can. as much as some of you bash him what are YOU doing to further the Kingdom of God other than criticize what he is doing?

Good job Crae. He represents Christ well. The world & the church both seem to like him and yet he doesn't compromise on his convictions. A tricky position to hold but Jesus did the same, hanging around prostitutes & crooked government figures but not scared to call sin for what it is. We as the church gotta stand back & let him do his thing. He is a much needed voice.

for the record, when asked about drinking.. Lecrae said it's okay to "kick ONE back" he never said it's ok to be drunk.. which in the bible says is clearly not ok. Lecrae is a highly intelligent man and artist, I pray God continues to use him in great ways.
@daivenigga6311 жыл бұрын
i thought the bible said drink without drunkenness? even Jesus had wine. what passage are you referring to?
@dantheliar5711 жыл бұрын
That's exactly what I'm saying brother. Its okay to drink but not okay to drink so much that you get drunk. "And don't get drunk with wine, wherein excess, but be filled with the holy spirit". -Ephesians 5:18. I'd also like to clarify that Jesus drank wine because back then it was very hard to come by clean drinkable water, so everybody drank wine with their food as it was clean and drinkable.
@daivenigga6311 жыл бұрын
so lecrae and the bible says its okay to drink but not get drunk, what was the point of your post?

will gip My friend sent me a link stating that Lecrae was saying it's okay to drink. So I watched this and if you're younger and watch it you might think by him saying "if you wanna drink, drink, do yo' thang" that it's okay as a Christian to get drunk. I just wanted to clarify what he meant with my comment..

Lecrae gets too much flack for what he has to say. He's point on about everything he's saying. The drinking, the clothing, all that. Doesn't matter. He wants you to come as you are to his music and hear the Message. He's not focused on changing hearts by changing actions, like most Christians are... He's focused on changing hearts, and allowing that to change their actions.

***** *1 John, Chapter 1* 8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.
@mrscorpionk219310 жыл бұрын
jbooks888 Question is not WHEN we sin but IF we sin. God Said to the Woman at the well "... GO and SIN NO MORE" For those who are Christians this is what you do. For the Unbeliever it is God gives grace to the Humble, but Opposes the Proud. James 4:6 Hence we all sinned. Although we should ..."No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God." 1 John 3:9.. So stating that we all sin after being born again is not Accurate and Strive not to SIN. Its not WHEN (implying it will happen) it is IF (implying we FALL, jumping in is not the same as Falling or tripping).

That's not wisdom. That was foolish. He's saying that if I wear satanic symbols it's okay. If I wear Wicca symbols, it's alright but the bible says to abstain from all appearance of evil. True religion and undefiled before God the father is to visit orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself undefiled from the world. Is wearing satanic symbolism keeping yourself undefiled? It's like wearing a pentagram and calling yourself Christian, is that not hypocritical? Yeah, let's all wear skulls and cross bones and promote death but the bible says that death is an enemy and Jesus came to overcome death. So yeah, believe what you want but lecrae is just scared to get persecuted because he thinks if he isn't accepting to everyone's sin than he won't be able to spread the gospel to as many people. Good intentions but bad actions. God is just as happy with one person coming to him as a thousand anyway. Luke 15:7 "I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance"

***** I just wanted to address the working towards salvation thing. True, salvation isn't something we can earn. To support, Ephesians 2:8-9 says for BY GRACE are ye saved, but the second part of the verse says THROUGH FAITH. Also to chain to this verse is Philippians 2:12, Paul said, Work out YOUR OWN SALVATION with fear and with trembling. So to connect the two, No we can't earn the opportunity of salvation, because if God was fair with us, We'd all be on our way to hell, because all of us are sinners, and have fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 2:23.) But God does require things of us to secure our positioning. The second part of Ephesians 2:8-9 is that we are saved by GRACE ( unearned ), THROUGH FAITH. God requires us to have faith. And if you understand Faith, you'd understand that Faith without works is dead, being alone (James 2:26.) Also timing in the scripture from phillipians that we ned to WORK our salvation out with FEAR (reverence because we don't deserve salvation) and trembling (reverence and humility: submission to the will of God.) So No! We can't earn the opportunity of salvation, but we do have to work for our salvation to be saved, otherwise the bible would only have 2 scripture in it.

Let me just say this... If you look closely to his responses u can see how convicted he is. trying to preach but also not trying to hurt the feelings of the people he is talking to.... By no means are we suppose to be rude, but most of the time, people will not like when we stand up for what is actually right and wrong because they themselves are convicted... We are not perfect by any means, BUT living a CHRISTIAN life is about living for GOD. He clearly talks about himself and not about God and what God wants HIM to do at all... Just thought i'd share for anyone who this may minister to. God Bless You All.

Before you call me a hater read John 15:18-19 then watch the video again and see for yourself. Lecrae is not a man of God he is of the world it's right there in front of our eyes.

There is no way you can say Lecrae is or isnt a man of God unless you know him. The Bible says you can tell if a person is a Christian by what fruit they produce, and I am pretty sure he's reaching more people for Christ through his music than anyone of us will in our whole lives. I am not saying he is perfect, dont get me wrong, but you cannot just say hes not a man of God because hes a rapper and rappers have the reputation of being non Christians.

Rappers do this all the time. It's a split second composition of words and rhymes they spin off the top of their head. So what if they recycle some of their material? Just sayin'...you do what he did on this video, or in his career..

funny that some of y'all are saying drinking is a sin when Jesus' first miracle was turning the water to wine

DO you know what wine was back in the days?
@mattdavis590111 жыл бұрын
Malakii X Wine.... do you know what it was 4000 years before jesus during the time of noah? wine... if wine wasn't alcoholic like it is today, then how did noah end up getting so drunk he passed out from drinking it? Plus the host of the wedding even said "most people wait til everyone has drank their fill, then pull our the cheap stuff, but you waited to pull the best out til now."
@ardentchateau11 жыл бұрын
Matt Davis Ephesians 5:18 "And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit" It's pretty simple..You can drink as long as it's not in excess. Being drunk is a sin and yes Noah sinned but his belief in God and his sacrifices to him are what justified him in the eyes of God. In the old testament God had mercy on the faithful and believing Psalm "If thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared." But yes getting drunk is a sin..Drinking isn't. Why should you not drink? Because of the social temptations to get drunk with your friends and simply your witness for the Lord. Is it a good witness to be holding a beer and preaching to abstain from all appearance of evil like it says in 1 Thessalonians 5:22? No I don't think so. Is it wise to remain drinking when you have a past of drunken parties or even some moments of drunkenness? No. The bible says to flee from temptation. It may not be a sin to get into a situation that can temp you but it's not wise, it's foolish because anyone can fall into any deadly sins. 1 Corinthians 10:23 "All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not." The bible also says 1 Corinthians 10:31 "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God." So you have to ask the question "What is my purpose in drinking alcohol? Is it to glorify God or is it just a selfish desire?" If it is a selfish desire than it would be wise to cast it away.
@mattdavis590111 жыл бұрын
ardentchateau that's what i was saying, it is not a sin to drink, it is a sin to get drunk... personally, i have never been much for alcohol myself, but i still have a long island or 2 every once and a while and i am fine with that because i don't care about getting drunk, i just simply like the taste... but to answer malakii's question, wine from scripture was still alcoholic, just as it is today, even if the process has been changed over time...

"our body's a temple of the Holy Spirit" that was referring to sex, not drinking or anything else.. the bible speaks about not getting drunk, but anything else is based on conviction of the Holy Spirit... wearing skulls?? there is nothing wrong with wearing skulls.. dont be like a pharisee, adding crazy regulations onto what the bible says.. however, if you are convicted about wearing them, by all means, dont.. but allow the Holy Spirit to convict, thats what He does, and thats what we dont suppose to do..

Props and Blessings to Lecrae. I have never heard his thoughts on being a Christian and dealing with financial greed as one. The heart of people is what causes the corruption of items.

The separation of "Christian rappers" (Lecrae, NF, Andy Mineo) and rappers that are Christians (Kendrick Lamar, Logic, Tupac) is mainly whether or not they cuss. The fear of profanity in the Christian community is a big problem for leading young people from God, in my opinion.
@camNfamILY8 жыл бұрын
But the things they talk about are so different. Christian rappers are here to uplift people and show the word of God. Regular rappers talk about money, women, and pleasures.
@simplemanrobertson66358 жыл бұрын
camNfamILY That's simply not true. There are many examples of "secular" rappers that have a very uplifting message, even a Christian one. Examples: Kendrick Lamar and Logic are both secular artists that give uplifting Christian messages.

Tupac believed in a God but he said before hes not a Christian. And I struggle with cursing. I know Jesus said not to be hateful and speak evil things but i feel like that means not to cuss at people or scheme up some evil stuff but others say he meant cussing too.

But how can you say pictures don't corrupt, what about pornography? Lol.
@kevins978010 жыл бұрын
A women's or man's naked body (porn in your context) is sacred. It was intended to be beautiful and in the context of marriage (in the context God intended) it's not evil. But when you take those images and put them in the context outside of marriage that's when they become evil.
@thefleetfooted10 жыл бұрын
Of course. By default, pornography is outside of marriage. What's your point?
@nikbudig599210 жыл бұрын
Then you are talking about the act of pornography not the image of it. Pornography in it's self is a sin for the purpose they do it.
@ngeshlew10 жыл бұрын
Why is pornography evil or sin? (Matthew 5:27-28)Because it satisfies the lust of the eyes and Jesus said, when we lust for women, we are adulterers. (Exodus 20:14) And the 7th Commandment says "You shall not commit adultery", which makes pornography and anything related to it evil and sin.
