Initially, it may seem like Lecrae was dodging the question, and to an extent he was, but not because he is ashamed of the Gospel. There were times Jesus was asked a question, but instead of answering it, he would pose a question right back. It took Lecrae a while, but that is essentially what he did, getting to the heart of the matter. At the end Lecrae said, "We gotta start with, first of all, man, do you believe Jesus?! You know what I'm saying? Do you believe in Jesus? If you don't believe in Jesus, then what are we talking about right now? You know what I'm saying?" Basically, Lecrae is communicating to Vlad in a round-about way that there is no point in him asking him these kinds of things simply for "optics" and shock-value if he really isn't interested in hearing a truthful answer. He is simply trying to undermine, discredit, cancel and derail Lecrae's ministry with a question that is asked with ill-intent. Lecrae knew this and wouldn't grant him the privilege to have such a luxury on camera - something that would be forever trapped on camera and could used against him. That doesn't mean Lecrae is ashamed of the gospel. Now I will say this, Lecrae could definitely stand to work on better delivering this kind of response so that it doesn't come across as "dancing." Vlad did succeed in that regard by making Lecrae look like he was a bit skittish. That was what Vlad wanted as well, to see Lecrae tremble (which he did to an extent). But he didn't get the "big fish" he truly wanted, which would be Lecrae condemning and pronouncing judgement on people. Sorry Vlad, that's not how Christians roll.
