I like two of Lecrae's songs, and I'm not going to pretend to be a rap expert, but I feel like his song missed the mark. I think he hid behind his Christianity, which is understandable since he's a Christian. The reference to the "period blood" is an attempt to make it seem unclean. However, menstruation is a natural cleansing process for women and has nothing to do with being dirty. I wish people would be honest. Didn't Jesus call people out? I'm just saying. 🤷🏽♀️ and I agree with your sentiments on we all need to do our individual work. We cannot ignore our history and we can't hide behind religion and act like that's going to absolve us of the issues issues. We need heal the root.

absolutely agree with you! and understood about menstruation. yeah what he said didn’t feel right. but i’m not surprised because most christians think women are an extension of a man’s rib 🤷🏾♂️

The period blood is a direct reference to what Jesus says in the bible. He uses those exact words. As to hiding behind religion, he's not hiding anything. He's actually very open with his flaws. I think you have a disposition towards Christianity and are missing the key elements on what was said.

@jacobrudniski3927 I don't have a disposition toward Christianity per se. My issue lies with people who hide behind religion and try to use that as the key to solving all issues when it's not. I never claimed to be a Christian to know that that was referenced in the Bible. However, I am a woman and I know the scientific reason behind menstruation. I am also very familiar with who Lecrae is; however, I only like two of his songs.

@@jacobrudniski3927 bro you do know chat gpt exists right ? “There is no record in the Bible of Jesus specifically mentioning "period blood" using those exact words. In the Bible, menstruation is addressed in the Old Testament, particularly in Leviticus 15, which discusses ceremonial cleanliness. However, these laws are part of the Mosaic Law and not direct teachings of Jesus from the New Testament.”
