I understand Kendrick's internal dilemma. Conflict and aggression toward others is something that all decent people are averse to. Pacifism is an ideal to strive toward but is it effective or is it just an ideal? There are rational arguments that pacifism can end up encouraging and emboldening more aggression from the other side. I don't claim to have the answers but it's always valuable to consider these moral dilemmas.
