Man…. I just realized how crazy this first verse actually is. When I first heard this song months ago, I thought the first verse was just telling a story and the last part of the verse was a topic switch about his cousin who he lost. But after listening to this song over and over , I realized the whole verse was about him and his cousin, how they grew up, and how he could’ve easily been in his cousin’s place, had it not been for the grace of God. I googled it and learned his cousin Darryl passed away in 2015. I’m blown away… amazing song and testimony 🙏🏽🙏🏽. RIP Darryl
