Jay Ocq I didnt mean any disrespect my dude, sorry if i offended you i was legit trying to hype up one of my fav Rappers songs. I have seen the statistics, and as a white person i do feel attacked that we deal with more whites getting killed than blacks a year, im not sleeping on anyone or anything. But America has decided to handle the situation with the Blacks right now and i am in full support of helping another nation of human beings, im not looking for a fight, if God tells me its now or never im gonna take his hand and walk to the front lines. so itd be very appreciated if you stop trying to pick fights where there are non to be held, go find a public forum for that.

People like to be comfortable. Ideas and facts that conflict with our own create discomfort because we have to rethink things. People would rather just keep away from it all and stay comfortable but ignorant.. We wouldn't know that the earth revolves around the sun (and not vice versa) if one guy didnt challenge the world. What happened then? The church (a strong political power back then) tried to shut him up by kicking him out because they were uncomfortable.The blind leading the blind...

After being in Afghanistan and seeing how things unfolded, the second verse hits differently now versus when I first listened to it in high school. The part that really hit home was when he says “ain’t nobody give a jack in America.” When I left, it seemed like people could have cared less if I lived or died when the learned of the deployment, including the church I was a part of. Then when I came home, I tried to hold back tears when I saw all those people waiting for their loved ones to welcome them back with enthusiasm, but nobody was there and in fact my ride was about 40 minutes late. I’ve suppressed those memories, but listening to this song brings back those memories. 22 vets take their life daily, nobody seems to care about that. And now seeing how we’ve just moved on from Afghanistan as if it never happened makes me so angry at times. I’ve forgiven, but will never forget. It’s why whenever I hear,” thank you for your service,” it is vanity to me because the actions spoke louder than words. But what’s the point of talking. A lot of y’all don’t really care America. That’s what the actions show.

First of all I hope that you feel sorry for the Afghans that you've participated in killing... you did service to the devil by doing so! 9/11 was an inside job! I hope you feel sorry for yourself for thinking that going into war was a good life option over most, when you are an ignorant who've been bamboozled. I understand that many end lonely and broke... then commit suicide. But I think they do so because they feel humiliated for going to war for a bunch of ungrateful sons of bitches and all the special treatment for the heros was a lure. War has lost its nobility centuries ago, it has become an industry and a lucrative business, and you are no better than a service material to them, that's why you are often nicknamed as GI (Government Issue) feel yourself lucky for being in America where you can have the bare minimum and imagine if you were one of those on the other side, where there is close to none medical care, nonexistent psychological support, scarcity and desolation all around, imagine yourself one of those you was trying to kill on sight because you've an order issued from the highest instance in your fucking country, an order to commit injustice, an order to take someone life just because you've been brainwashed to associate with terrorism).

I think what Lecrae is trying to say is that America needs prayer for all those problems. I think he is trying to tell Christians that we should go & spread the love of God to all these people that have problems. These people need God's love. Thank You Lecrae for this music video.

Exactly
@paulsheldon19599 жыл бұрын
Lecrae didn't even imply or allude to spreading Gods love. That's unfortunate. My first impression was actually just a hate song on America. Then I pondered it and realized that many OT prophets spoke of the true state their nation was in without a coat of sugar. However, I still feel strongly that lecrae could have spoken of God with an evangelistic theme at least once. America, after all, was once a much greater nation In regards to beliving in the Holy Bible and living it out and EVANGELIZING. Love to brother lecrae. Pray for him.
@tredariusdavidson9869 жыл бұрын
Paul Sheldon he does not need to speak about god every time to get his point across. He just likes to speak the truth. This why he does not want to be labeled a Christian rapper because people always think he need to speak about god. He is a rapper who believes in god who will speak the truth. This song to help people open their eyes about America and what actually happens.

The drastic difference between childish gambinos version is a major difference between people. One side sees america from a victim point of view and the other sees it really just as it is, which is different people that have different struggles and different experiences. I don’t care who you are, you have struggles, and this shows that.
@acemiller1014 жыл бұрын
Related to this song when I first heard it 4 years ago. Just watched the video for the first time, and it hits in so many ways: 1. Proud Christian 2. Born in a foreign land (Liberia) 3. Both parents work two jobs, constantly passing taxes 4. Currently serving 15th year in the military Marine Corps 5. Went to War twice (3 deployments total) 6. Veteran siblings who struggle to find quality jobs, dealing with PTSD. 7. Siblings in foreign countries wishing they could come live here in America and get opportunities to build a better life. 8. Fellow Veterans getting deported even after serving in the military. América, we've got to do better than this.
@takeusernname3 жыл бұрын
It's something that I think about a lot; the United States is a country that seems to pride itself on being proud of its veterans and service members, but yet we still have so many who come here, serve, and get deported after their enlistment is up, and so many more who serve and end up below the poverty line or homeless. People love to show their support and stand for the flag, but nobody seems to care about veterans beyond that. It breaks my heart seeing a homeless Army or Marine vet on the side of the road because you have no idea what he went through, only to get out and have the country he gave up his own freedoms for turn its back on him.

#Lecrae I am blown away by to your talent and ability to paint a picture with your lyrics. I introduced you to my son a few years ago and now, at 13 he has a real love for Christian rap. Instead of listening to all that music about killing, sex and drugs, he chooses to listen to righteous music. It all started with one of your songs. I thank God for you my brother 🙏

Our son 17 just enlisted to protect and serve. I asked the question...do you think the American people really know and care about what that means? He said "it doesn't matter it's a heart thing" This video..added confirmation that I am proud of who God has created our son to be. God Bless him and America.

He is a lyrical genius. This is the truth. I love my country but we NEED to correct our faults because they are nearly as great as what makes us great... even so we are blessed, we ought to act like it and stop the whole "the sun rises and sets on my butt" mentality

The first time I heard this song, I was banging my head so hard. Little freshman on the school bus not giving a flip about anybody that might be looking at him. I had just given my life to Christ that summer. Second time, nearly cried as I really listened closely to the message. Just... moved me. Now that I see this video: I know what I gotta do. Save my brothers and sisters; we'll keep going from there.
